Chapter 3:
All I can think about is her.
I swear every waking second, no matter what I was doing or thinking at that moment, my mind always tended to drift back to Elena. Where she was, how she was, if she was safe from any bullies, even what she was doing. I knew this was definitely, and obviously, not a good sign but I just couldn’t help it! She was just so pretty from head to toe, so kind regardless of her position, so brave in the position she was put in with the five of us.
She’s just so perfect.
“Hello, Amber?” Brittney waved her hand in front of my face, pulling me away from a rather erotic daydream.
No, I was not daydreaming about her…ok maybe I was…just a little bit.
“Do you want to go to the mall with us or not?” Brittney asked as she took a bit of her skimpy lettuce wrap. Honestly, I don’t get how she survives on that protein-less…vegetable thing!
“Now?” I ended up asking a little too loudly, causing people’s head to turn our way. Brittney and I immediately shot them death glares and they instantly returned to whatever they were doing. Oh how I love the power of ruling the school sometimes; when we’re not being asked for directions or anything.
“We have to pick out outfits for tonight!” Jake stated, “for going to that club,”
Oh right, today was Sunday. Jeez time went by fast. It seems like only yesterday that I had met Elena in that economy class when, in reality, it was almost a week ago. A smile began to find its way onto my face. I’ve been waiting to go clubbing for like ever! Yeah sure it may be illegal but its hell of a lot of fun! Ironic how everything extremely enjoyable is illegal for people like me but I guess the idea of getting caught contributes to half the fun.
I wonder what Elena is up to? Maybe she’s free tonight; I could invite her to go clubbing with us! Of course, I’d have to pull a few strings to get her a fake I.D. but that shouldn’t be too hard right? An immense sense of security popped up within me as a vision of poor little Elena being arrested by the police and sent to juvenile; there’s no way she would survive. If I was to bring her to the club today, I’d risk everything to make sure she’s safe.
But of course, I’m just bringing her as a friend…
“Stop daydreaming!” Brittney snapped at me. “Would you pay attention?”
“Sorry,” I apologized, shaking my head gently, eyes boring into Brittney’s.
“You’ve been daydreaming a lot lately,” Jaki suddenly pointed out, her tone mysterious.
I could feel myself start to blush. “Have not,”
“Have to!” Both girls shouted simultaneously.
