HOURS HAD PASSED BEFORE SUMMER EVENTUALLY FELL ASLEEP. Images of the faceless creature haunting her every second as she lay awake, consuming her every breath and notion until she couldn't take it anymore.

If it hadn't been for the exhaustion weighing down on her then she never would've fallen asleep. And only a few hours after she had eventually drifted off, Nancy had awoken from her own nightmare. Her mind racing a thousand miles an hour with the same images that had been plaguing Summer, so horrifying that she refused to go back to sleep, and instead, decided to do some research.

Jonathan was the next one to wake, shifting himself awkwardly so that he was no longer, almost, spooning Summer. He props himself up on his elbow as he takes in the multiple books Nancy had spread out on the bed, all of which were opened to very specific pages.

Nancy goes on to explain how the creature they saw seemed to have animal-like instincts, such as a shark who can smell blood from far away or that it always travelled alone. It was Summer who had sparked the thought when she told them about her paper cut and how she believed that she had almost been taken too.

Barb had cut herself the night she disappeared, and the fact that Will's bike was found on the side of the road, gave good reason to believe that perhaps he too had hurt himself.

It's then that Summer stirs from her sleep, hearing Nancy's theory, and mumbles, "So, you think that we could lure it to us with blood?"

Both Nancy and Jonathan look down at her, shrugging and pursing their lips as if to say 'it's worth a shot'. From what Nancy had pointed out, and from what they knew about the creature, it seemed logical enough to work.

Summer then opens her mouth to speak but a sudden knock at the door catches her off guard, "Nancy, are you awake?" Mrs Wheeler calls out.

"Y-yeah!" Nancy responds, biding them time as she points towards the window. "I'm just getting dressed."

Frantically gathering a change of clothes, the three of them climb out the window and rush across the street to Jonathan's car just before Mrs Wheeler opens the door out of curiosity, only to find the room now empty.

With nowhere else to go, Summer suggests returning to her house so to give them somewhere safe and quiet to come up with a proper plan. Plus, she didn't want to have to walk around in Nancy's pyjama's all day.

Though, as they pull up to the house, Helene's car is still parked in the driveway. Summer was sure she would've already left for work, but the fact that she hadn't told her she wouldn't be home last night, may be why she was still home.

"Give me a minute," Summer sighs, climbing out of the car and heading towards the door, but before she can even wrap her fingers around the handle, it swings open.
