Thinking for a moment, Aylin recalled hearing a conversation her mother had with her when she turned 14. She mentioned that when a female finds her mate, that the bond is so strong that the male tends to mark his female within the first 24 to 48 hours of them being together. The bite is said to be pleasurable, and once it heals, there is a tattoo on the females neck that forever resides there. The initials of her mate are always proudly shown to the members of the pack.

Typically, the female marks her mate as well, showing any unmated females whom her mate belongs to. Once the union of the two is complete, their scents mix together, furthering their bond. The completion of the mating process was having sex, which she was nowhere near ready for.

Simply recalling the conversation was making Aylin nervous. She was focusing hard on the pain of the bite, and tuning out the rest of the explanation she could remember. Ezekiel was looking at her strangely, since she had tuned him out.

"Aylin?" he questioned.

Coming back to herself, she shook off the old conversation with her mother. "I've been told about marking. From what I know, it hurts."

Pushing the hair off her shoulder, Ezekiel exposed the sweet spot on her neck he intended to bite. "Actually, it can be quite pleasurable." Bringing his hand up, his index finger grazed the spot on her neck, immediately Aylin tensed. "I know this is a lot to ask, but when we go to your old pack, they need to know whom you belong to."

Anger coursed through Aylin at her mates words. "I don't belong to anyone!" she yelled, jumping up from the couch moving away from him.

'We belong to him!' Kaia squealed.

'No, we don't!'

Ezekiel observed Aylin's sudden quietness, and knew that she was arguing with Kaia. He thought it was cute that she was so resistant to the idea she was his. She accepted the idea they were mates, but didn't want to accept the idea she belonged to him. He knew for a fact that she felt something when he grazed her shoulder. If he was whom he previously had been, he would have forcibly held her down and marked her. Now, that seemed like a distant memory.

Jumping off the couch, she made her way to the other side of the room, as far from Ezekiel as possible. Her heart was thumping out of her chest. Pressing herself into the corner of the room, Aylin could feel Ezekiel's gaze. Getting up from the couch, he came toward her, like an animal stalking his prey. His heavy tread was approaching, and she couldn't help, but feel a heat pooling in her core.

Standing in front of her, Ezekiel put his arms against both the walls, caging her in. Leaning down, he dragged his nose over her shoulder taking in her scent. Instinctively, her hands grasped the material of his shirt. Bringing his head back up, Aylin could see Ezekiel's eyes turn black. Moving the hair off her shoulder, he twirled his fingers around it briefly. Pressing himself closer, he slipped his leg in between hers. The grip she had one his shirt tightened. Dipping his head down again, an involuntary moan escaped Aylin's lips.

"Please don't hurt me, Zeke," she murmured.

"Never," he hummed, against her skin.

Wrapping an arm around her tiny waist, his other hand came up, holding the back of her head. Ezekiel could feel his canines emerge from his gums. Gently grazing her skin, Aylin let out a groan. Kissing her sweet spot, Aylin threw her head back. Biting down on her skin, she let out a yelp. Immediately, her arms wrapped as far as they could around Ezekiel's body. There was a whirlwind of sensation Aylin was feeling; though initially, the bite was painful, almost immediately, it turned to pleasure.

"Zeke," Aylin moaned.

Releasing his canines from her flesh, Ezekiel retracted them. Seeing his mark on her, his tongue darted out licking up the blood left behind. Tilting her head towards him, Aylin's eyes were still closed. Moving the hand from around her waist, he cupped her cheek. "You alright, baby?"

Finally opening her eyes, Ezekiel was very close to her. Gulping loudly, she moved her hands to his chest. "I'm alright, Zeke. I promise."

Tucking strands of hair behind her ear, Ezekiel smiled down at his little mate. "Now everyone will know whom you belong to." Bringing the back of her hand to his chiseled jaw, the stubble tickled her skin. Purring under her touch, he kissed her forehead. His lips felt so soft against her tender skin; it sent a shiver up her spine.

"What does it look like?"

"Let's go take a peek." Taking her small hand in his, they left the office, headed for Ezekiel's room.

Turning on the light in his bathroom, Aylin moved her hair observing the fresh mark on her neck. It was the most beautiful thing she had ever seen. There was a wolf with a crescent moon, and just below his initials. Ezekiel came up behind her, gently trailing his fingers over his mark; even the slightest touch made Aylin shudder. Gripping the sink for dear life, a chuckle came from her mate.

"Does that feel good?" he purred, in her ear.

Shivering slightly, Aylin wasn't sure what to say. The mark on her neck was making her feel something she hadn't before, but she couldn't quite put her finger on what. "W-why do I feel like this?"

"Because, you feel for me. Our bond is growing stronger. When we do it, the feeling will be even stronger. And we'll be able to communicate through the link."

Gazing at his reflection in the mirror, the devious smirk on his face gave her the answer to what "it" was. "Wait, we have to...?"

"Of course, Ezekiel answered, "but we won't be right now. If that's what you're worried about."

Truthfully, seeing the expression on her mates face, that was exactly what she was worried about. She was afraid that she would disappoint him in every way possible. Never in her life had a man touched her, let alone have sex with her. The idea frightened her. What if he rejected her after that? Squeezing her eyes shut, Aylin dropped her head.

"What's wrong, Aylin?" Ezekiel asked, concern in his voice.

A stray tear dripped down her cheek. "It's nothing."

Swirling Aylin around, Ezekiel looked her dead in the eye. "Talk to me, sweetheart."

"I'm just afraid--"

"Of what?"

The only thing Aylin could do was press her forehead to Ezekiel's chest, and start sobbing. "Afraid I won't be good enough!"

Without a word, Ezekiel scooped Aylin up into his arms, placing her gently on the bed. Laying next to her, he wrapped an arm around her. Instinctively, she cuddled into his large form, feeling enveloped in his warmth. "You don't have to worry about that right now. I promise you we will wait until you are ready, and not a moment before."

"I don't just mean that," her voice was muffled, speaking into his shirt.

"Then what do you mean?" Aylin was silent at his question. "Are you concerned you aren't good enough for me?" He felt her nodding against him. Tilting her chin up to meet his gaze, her tear streaked cheeks broke his heart. "There's nothing to worry about. I want you, and only you."

Tucking her head under his chin, Aylin closed her eyes against the rock hard, warmth of her mate.
