Auston's POV:

After the overtime win against Vancouver, we all went out to celebrate. I sat at a table and watched all the guys dance with their significant others. I felt someone sit next to me. "Auston right?"

I looked at the person and recognized him as Brynn's brother Ryan. "What are you doing here?"

He laughed. "Freddie and I have gotten quite close since Brynn introduced the both of us. It feels good to have a friend that doesn't live in California because that means I can leave the state to see them."

I nodded. He looked out among the crowd and smiled at someone. I stared at the drink that was in front of me. "Do me a favor Auston."

I looked up at him. "Okay."

He stood up and went to leave the table I was at. "Leave Brynn alone. She's happy. You made your bed. Now lay in it."

He walked away and left me staring at his back as he said bye to Freddie and walked out of the club. I stayed where I was and pulled my phone out. I ran through my contacts and landed on Brynn's number. If I was going to leave her alone, I needed to speak with her one last time.

"Hello?"

"Is this Brynn?" I overheard a lot of yelling and laughing in the background and got the idea that the Kings has some type of party that she was at with Alec.

"I'm sorry what?"

"Never mind." I sighed and hung up the phone.

Brynn's POV:

I pushed my way through the crowd of people looking for Alec. He was shushing people around him as he held my phone up to his ear.

"I'm sorry what?" He stayed silent for a moment before shushing people again.

"Hello?" He pulled the phone away and hung up. He saw me and handed it to me.

"Someone called I couldn't get a name though." I laughed and grabbed my phone.

"Will you take me home Alec? I'm ready to see my baby." He smiled and nodded.

I grabbed his hand and let him lead me through the the crowd of players, wives, and girlfriends. All of them waving and saying by to the both of us. We got stop by Anze Kopitar at the door.

"Leaving so soon Martinez?" He looked at me and grinned.

I smiled at him. He has always been so nice to me. "I need to get home to my daughter before I get dubbed as a bad mother."

He laughed and his wife walked over having overheard our conversation. "No of course not. Elle is in the hands of a true angel."

I blushed and smiled. "Thank you Ines."

"You ready beautiful?" I nodded at him and gave a hug to both Anze and Ines. We walked outside and we waved to a few more people before getting into his car. He drove me to my house and pulled into the driveway. I saw Jess look out the window and rush up the stairs.

"That was eventful to say the least." Alec laughed at my comment.

"The rookies now how to throw a party." He said with a shrug.

I grabbed my phone and went to open the door before I felt him grab my hand and pull me into a kiss. He pulled away and I smiled at him.

"Goodnight Brynn." He smiled at me.

"Goodnight Alec." I opened the door and walked inside. Jess was laying on the couch with Elle watching Frozen.

I smiled and went to the kitchen to gets some water. I pulled my phone out and went to my recent calls to see who it was exactly that called me. I opened my recents and paused at the name.

Auston.

I pressed the name and called him back trying to see what it was that he needed. I heard it ring before it went straight to voicemail.

"Hey, you've reached Auston. You got my voicemail which means I'm either at a game, at practice, or with friends or family. Leave me a message and I'll get back to you."

I hung up and sighed. Whatever he called for must not have been that important then.
