"Adrian?" Eva called out, her voice echoing through the house.
She pushed her wet hair behind her ears and made her way over to the wooden stairs.
"Second door to your left" she heard Adrian instruct once she reached the third floor. She followed his voice and found him sitting on a large bed with a computer on his lap.
"How was your shower?" he asked, maintaining his gaze on the laptop. "Wet, obviously" she replied sarcastically and sat on the edge of his bed. "Well if you wanted to get wet you could've just asked me" he smirked and diverted his attention to her.
"Miller!" she groaned, embarrassed by the innuendo. She avoided his mischevious eyes by looking around the white room.
There were black tables beside the bed and two large windows that were covered by nude-colored curtains. There were other doors in the room, likely closets and a bathroom. His TV sat in the front of the room along with a dresser and a large mirror.
"So I was wondering, where will I be sleeping?" She questioned awkwardly.
"You can stay with me or use one of the guest rooms, it's up to you."
"I, well... that depends... what are we?" she asked, and kept herself busy by staring at the pile of books that sat on a corner of the dresser.
Adrian laughed, making her groan "It's a serious question!"
"I know, I just find it funny that you still think it's necessary to ask that. I thought I made it clear," he said and closed the computer before setting it aside.
"I just want to make sure we're on the same page," she grumbled and fisted a handful of his soft sheets.
"I already told you. You're mine and I'll plow my fist through anyone that tries to steal your affection" he got off the bed and started to make his way to her. He placed a hand on her back and pulled her to him. Just as his lips touched hers, Eva shoved him. The back of his legs hit the bed and made him fall.
"Eva!" he yelled after she ran out of the room.
"That's what you get for teasing me," she yelled back and walked downstairs to the kitchen.
She figured she should prepare lunch for them. The condition of his fridge revealed that he was in desperate need of groceries. There wasn't much she could've put together with the materials available other than sandwiches.
She placed a tomato down when she heard someone knock on the door. She looked through the peephole and found a man with black handling his phone.
"Hi? Who are you?" she questioned, keeping her eye on him.
"Hi Eva. I'm Evan, Alpha Adrian's secretary" Evan raised his head and smiled shyly.
Eva threw the door open once she got a good look at him. "You!" she pointed a finger accusingly.
"Me?" Evan took a step back, scared of the little spitball that was glaring up at him.
"You stole my bag! I remember that curly black hair!" Eva's arms were now crossed across her pink blouse.
"Yes ma'am, I did rob you" Evan nodded and scratched his hair.
"Adrian made you do it, didn't he?" she asked with a roll of her eyes.
Evan wondered if he should say yes and risk angering Adrian. He settled with saying "Well..."
Eva reached out, grabbed his forearm and pulled him to sit on a couch. "I was making lunch for Adrian and myself, but he no longer deserves a sandwich. Want one?" she asked from the kitchen.
