"These won't do," the man says, tossing the watch on the ground.

I bite my cheek to stop myself from saying anything, but Percy beats me to it.

"Are you serious?" He exclaims.

"Watch your mouth, boy," the man says, glaring at him.

"How about you give us money and we'll walk away before we do anything," Percy threatens.

But before we could do anything, his cheap bodyguard grabs Percy and holds him to his chest.

"Leave, before we take your sister," the man says. I nod at Percy, and he springs into action.

He flips the man over and I grab my switchblade from the inside of my jacket.

I hold the blade at the neck of the man who held onto Percy, the same man who hurt me for all those years, and watch as his expression turns to fear.

"We're not kids anymore," I say. "Give us the money or he dies," I say to the older man.

The older man looks at me. "You're bluffing. But fine, I will give you twenty dollars," he says, handing Percy the bill.

"Let's go, El," he says. I look at the other man. With one quick motion, I swipe the blade across his face, blood already seeping out of the wound. He shouts in pain and anger and lunges for me.

Percy runs away, and I follow.

A wicked grin forms on my face as I run, and don't look back.

I gasp, opening my eyes. Jay stares down at me from the top bunk, and Cole and Lloyd look at me from either side of me. They all wear looks of worry.

"You okay?" Jay asks.

I groan, standing up. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just another dream."

"Another?" Lloyd asks, crossing his arms.

"Uh, yeah. Did I not mention that?"

"Mention what?" Kai asks, jumping down from his bed.

"That she has nightmares," Cole says.

"I never said they were nightmares," I say, defending myself.

"You didn't have to."

"What are they about?" Kai asks.

"Just, flashbacks. I mean they are nightmares sometimes, but they're usually just flashbacks of things that happened in the past. Good and bad," I say.

"If you ever want to talk, we're here for you," Cole says.

"Yeah," Lloyd says.

"Thanks, guys," I say, smiling.

"Zane is too if he ever wakes up," Jay says, hitting Zane with a pillow.

"What?" Zane asks, sitting up and rubbing his eyes.

"Come on, morning stretches are soon," Kai says.

The six of us walk onto the deck. Sensei Wu was waiting for us. We bow in greeting and line up.

"What are they about?" Lloyd whispers.

"I told you, just flashbacks," I whisper back.

"There's gotta be more to it than that," Cole whispers.
