"Defense Mode Two: Electric Pulse. Kid, get out of the way..." I did as asked, stepping to the side and watching a beat Takeyama touch the ground and then... Everything pulsed around me, blue waves passing right through objects and houses. I gasped when I saw that only Takeyama and I weren't pulsing. Because we weren't alive. But neither were the houses and their whole structure was pulsating with the blue light. "Found them," Takeyama said, standing up and dusting off his pants. "The girls are still waiting at the meeting place. Come over here and hold onto my hand."

I gave him a weird look. "Sorry, but I don't... go that way..." I muttered, walking away.

Takeyama rolled his eyes, snatching my wrist anyway. "Kid, neither do I. Defense Mode Five: Kaze." A current of wind suddenly smacked right into us, and before I could question what was going on, we were enveloped by a ball of air. Takeyama laughed at my expression. "This is the only way we can get to the girls fast enough. It's already going to be three am." My protests were lost as the ball of air literally whipped us through the streets, going at a not at all slow pace. By the time we stopped, I was wondering if kagami's like us could throw up.

"'Bout time you showed up," said an unruly Eve, her white hair slightly on end and eyes flashing a continuous violet. I looked at them curious, but not before Sora stepped in and slapped Takeyama, yelling nonsense to no one. At least I couldn't hear it, which I was glad of. Eve on the other hand groaned, slamming to hand over her ears. "What would you prefer, princess? That they waste another two hours getting here? Rio's house isn't at all close to this place."

Sora turned on Eve and yelled something else, face flustered with anger. I sighed, standing up and brought an arm around Sora's waist. She gave me a murderous look. Again, I sighed. "Look, I don't know what you're so mad about, but in the meanwhile can we not waste time and go before anyone finds us? I don't feel like having a reunion with 'daddy dearest' right now." Sora glared at me before smacking my arm away and walking off. "I'm guessing that's a yes?"

"Yup," Takeyama said from behind, pushing an angry Eve along and into the deep vegetation of the non-Kurai property. I followed after Takeyama reluctantly, seeing as no one's allowed in this part of Shin-En for a reason. There was -apparently- more than just vegetation in the outer areas of Shin-En. Things like... say, unknown species of animals that are kept away from the Kurai's by the fence we were now standing before. Sora was looking at it angrily, no doubt annoyed at her non-kagami status and the fact that she couldn't just cut through it like us. If only she knew that I envied her for being alive and breathing.

"What now?" I turned to Takeyama, who was smirking at an annoyed Eve. I watched wide-eyed as he wrapped an arm around her shoulder and did some sort of flirtatious move on her, whispering some nonsense into her ear until the girl's face flushed. My brows furrowed in confusion. Eve shook her head angrily, so Takeyama said something else and after that, Eve seemed to give in, her face so red it made you wonder if we kagami's had blood.

A moment later and Eve pushed away from Takeyama and walked to the fence. "'Che... I hate you Takeyama. You are so going to pay for this. Battle Mode Seven: Double Death Descending!" Both her hands shot out but instead of flattening out, they widened into large cylinder's the size of my head. The cylinders took over her whole arm, up to the joints that connected the limbs to her body. She pointed the two cylinders at the fence. "DESCEND!" An explosion seemed to go off from within her arms, one that was directed all towards the fence. A second passed and a flash of light later, it was pulverized. My mouth dropped.

"I... can I do that too?"

Eve glared at me, flicking white strands of her hair away from her face. "Of course not. That move is mine only. I'm a gun specialist," she said as the cylinders rapidly thinned out into the skin on her arm, leaving no trace of the weapon it'd just been. "Takeyama here's a sword specialist and Rika's a empath. We all have our specialties and figure them at some point, so don't even try copying any of my Battle modes or I will shoot you past the walls of Shin-En and into the never ending sky of the world above, you got that?"

"Er, ok?"

"Don't worry 'bout it," Takeyama said, slinging an arm around my shoulders. "She's like that to new people all the time, but eventually, after you get under her skin enough, the girl will explode and then..." he whistled, long and high to explain, laughing at the confused look I gave him. "I'll just say this, kid: Who said kagami's can't intermingle among themselves?" I felt my own face flush as I realized what exactly that meant. Well then...

And then I stared up at the hilly vegetation we were about to climb through in a matter of twenty four hours. I hated this so much right now.
