"Sky...I don't know what to say." He said. He had seen my memories, the ones I blocked out so long ago.
"I'm leaving." I said.
"What!? You can't go! Rayas will hunt you down, without protection your as good as his."
"Why run? There's no point in putting up a fight." I replied. He didn't need to see anything in my mind. Those were my memories he was looking at and I hated him for it. That trust we built was gone.
"What are you talking about? You chose to come with me so you could be far away from him!"
"Yes but if it's to end all this fighting, then maybe its best."
"Fighting? What are you talking about?"
"We're at war Adrian! Humans versus vampires! Your proof that we can be at peace."
"Yeah we've been that way for years! We always will! Skyler, vampires and humans are natural enemies there's no possible way we can live in peace! Don't you get it, it's impossible! I just used you as a meal! You've been out cold for two weeks!" I froze, that feeling was pulsing through me. Hatred. I got up and walked to the door.
"Then there's no reason for me to be here." I whispered.
"Sky you really believe that?"
"....Yeah I do."
"You leave and we're enemies again, don't do this. Galen will kill me."
"Maybe, maybe not. He can do what he wants, I don't care." He was speechless. "I never thought I'd see the day when I hate vampires." I whispered.
"What?" He choked.
"I hate you. You broke my trust." I opened the door and slammed it behind me. I slid down the banister of the stairs and walked out of the house. I had no idea where I was going but I didn't care. If I got eaten by animal or vampire I was okay with it. What reason did I have to put up with this? If I handed myself over to Rayas it'd be an easy life. He'd screw me, praise the child then cast me aside. I'd find another purpose after the prophecy.
"Hey Skyler! I'm back, funny thing really, I was asleep for two weeks can you believe that? I thought you said you'd visit me...." Galen said, wrapping his arms around my waist.
"Don't touch me."
"Don't touch me. I don't ever want to see you again."
"Skyler what's wrong?" He asked, hurt.
"I hate you, all of you. My life would be better without you all." He took a step back in complete shock.
"Sky if it's something I did I-"
"No it's you existing." I brushed past him, walking towards the woods. He didn't chase after me which surprised me quite a bit. My heart ached and I could feel his heart breaking through our bond.
"I'm sorry, Galen." I whispered to myself. Tears spilled down my face and I dashed into the woods as fast as I could. I was running for what I thought to be an hours. Breathless, I collapsed against a tree, my legs too tired to carry me. The night air was chilling me to the bone. Shivering I tugged my jacket around my knees, keeping my chest warm. I was about to doze off when I heard a noise. My heart was beating in my ears, adrenaline rushing through my veins.
"Hello deary, out for a walk?" I heard a deep voice murmur.
"Yeah, s-sure l-let's go with t-that." I said, teeth chattering. I could see a figure in front of me but no features to determine anything.
