I walk out the door for school the exact time she does. Aren't I lucky.
She walks ahead with her earphones tucked in her cute ears and her perfect brown hair swaying to the beat. As if feeling my stare, she stops so suddenly I fall into her.
"Why were you staring." She asks but I don't hear any trace of anger, just pain and curiosity.
"Because you're so beautiful." I think. "Um I um I don't know?"
She laughs mocking me. "Ok then." She says and for once there is no mean comment or shove that follows.
We walk to school in silence but it isn't awkward.
Her group of friends walk over and she suddenly changes. I know this is going to be bad but I know if I leave it'll only get worse.
"This loser was staring at me this morning." She laughs. "I want her to remember what happens to people who stare."
I am then kicked until I begin to pass out. I don't remember anything else.
I wake up in the nurses office with captivating green eyes leaning over me.
"I am very sorry." She says.
I just continue to stare at her.
"Come on then. Say something."
"What do you want me to say. That it's okay for you to kick me and punch me. To bully me and torment me. To get your friends to rape me and for me to just accept your apology?"
A tear falls from her perfect eye.
"You're right I didn't. You didn't do anything to deserve this. There is no excuse. I am sorry."
With that she leaves.
Oh Lauren why do you have to be so difficult?
