            “And always.”

            “To infinity,”

            “And beyond.”

The airport was slightly crowded for early morning. I yawned and walked over to baggage claim to get my things. After I got my bags, I walked to an empty seat, placed my stuff down, and took my phone out of my pocket. It was eight in the morning and I only hoped he would be awake by now. I took a deep breath and dialed a number I knew by heart. At the second ring, Sam answered.

“Hey baby girl. You’re up pretty early. Are you okay?” He asked. His voice was sleepy and I knew I had awoken him.

“Of course I’m okay, love. Did I wake you?” I asked.

“Maybe a little, but it’s okay. You’re the perfect alarm clock.” He answered and I laughed.

“You’re so adorkable, baby boy. But I have a question.”

“And I have an answer, my love.” He said, laughing.

“I hope so.” I replied, giggling.

“What is your question, baby?” He asked.

“Well, I was wondering if you were busy today?”

“Hm. Not that I know of. I’m off today and I’m skipping the last day of school so no. I’m not busy. Why do you ask?”

“Can you come pick me up from the airport?” I asked, suddenly shy. I heard him get up from bed.

“Wait. What? You’re here?” He said more awake. I laughed.

“Yes. My flight just landed not more than ten minutes ago.”

“Oh my god! I’ll be there in twenty minutes. I can’t wait to see you!” With that, the line went dead. I smiled to myself and sat down to wait on him.

A little less than twenty minutes later, I heard my name being called.

“Danielle!” I looked up and my breath caught in my throat. There he was; the angel in all my dreams.

“Sam!” I called out. His head turned towards me and he stopped walking. He looked at me for a long time, before he finally smiled. He slowly walked towards me. I stood up and tears were filling my eyes. I couldn’t believe this was happening. I couldn’t believe this was real; that he was here. When he finally reached me, he quickly wrapped his arms around me, hugging me tightly to his chest. I hugged him back, not even wanting to let go. Sooner than I wanted him to, he pulled away and looked into my eyes.

“Baby girl, why are you crying?” He asked. Concern was in his eyes as he wiped the tears away from mine. I smiled.

“I just can’t believe this is really happening.” I whispered. He smiled back and leaned down to press his lips softly to mine.

“I know what you mean, my love. I can’t believe you’re in my arms right now. This is incredible!” He said. I blushed and lowered my head to hide the blush. He lifted my head and stared into my eyes for a few seconds. I stared back into his. He slowly leaned in and pressed his lips to mine again. When he pulled away, he had a huge smile on his face. “Are you ready to go baby?” He asked.

“Where are we going, love?” I asked.

“My house if that’s okay. We can’t stay at an airport all day.” He answered.

“Haha, okay baby.” I said and gathered my bags. He took my hand and led me out to his car and helped me in. He got around to his side and got in. He glanced over at me as he turned the engine on. I looked back over at him and I swear my heart skipped a beat. He was incredible. He was an angel.

“I love you, Danielle.” He whispered. I smiled.

“I love you too, Sam.” I whispered back. His smile grew bigger.

“Forever?” He asked. I took his hand in my mine.

“And always.” I answered. He gently squeezed my hand.

“To infinity…” His voice trailed off and I giggled.

“And beyond.” He leaned over to my seat and brushed his lips against mine.

“No matter what.” He answered. I blushed and he laughed. He put his car in gear and backed out of the parking lot and drove away.

By the time we got to his house, it was raining.

“We’ll probably have to make a run for it and it might be best to leave your stuff out in the car until it lets up a little.” He said as he parked in the driveway. I looked over at him, a smile playing on my lips.

“That’s okay, but first… will you do something with me?” I asked. He smiled.

                “Anything for you, my love.”

                “Dance with me?”

                “In the rain?” I nodded.

“Please?” I asked, giving him my best pout. He laughed.

“Okay, okay.” He opened his door and stepped out. As I got out, he came around to my side and took my hand pulling me towards him. I wrapped my arms around his neck and he wrapped his around my waist. He looked down at me and smiled. “You are a weird little girl.” He said. I blushed.

“So what? You totally love me.” I shot back. He laughed and twirled me around.

“That I do, that I do. I always will you know.” He answered. And when I looked into his eyes, I knew he was telling the truth. I smiled. And stood on my tippy toes and kissed him softly. He pulled away and hugged me to his chest. We were soaking wet, but I didn’t care. All I cared about was finally being with him. We had waited for a year to be together and now we finally were. It was perfect. He was perfect. And even though forever was long time, I saw it with him and I couldn’t be happier. I saw my infinity and beyond when I looked into his eyes.
