The Fateful Encounter (Dulse x reader)

Chapter 11

(Y/n)'s P.O.V

  A smile graced my lips as I brushed through Grace's fur with a comb. After cleaning her and getting all of the tangles out of her fur she seemed much happier. She almost seemed like she was purring. I currently sat in my room Grace in my lap and Silver back in the blankets in the corner of my room. I leaned against the side of the bed while sitting on the floor. To be honest I've sat here for so long my butt has started to go numb but Grace looked so comfortable I didn't want to move her in fear of disturbing her so I stayed.

  After brushing the beautiful fox I started running my fingers through her pelt. She almost felt like ice her being an ice type, but it felt kind of good. Grace has now fallen asleep curled up in a ball her nine tails wrapped around me. All was quiet until I heard a knock coming from the door. I perked up slightly and turned my head towards the right where the door was located. I allowed them to come in by shouting 'its opened' and the door knob jiggled before being turned and the door was pushed open revealing Zossie.

  "Zossie?"

  "Hi (y/n) I wanted to come check on you" Zossie smiled and entered upon my room closing the door behind her. "Dulse also went out into the city for a while so you won't be seeing him much today, he had business to do" i only nodded while examining her moves as she plopped down beside me and looked at Grace.

  "She's beautiful" Zossie reached over and placed a hand upon the fox's head only to withdraw it. "She's cold" the orange haired female seemed baffled and looked at me.

  "She has to be, she's an ice type if she's feeling any warmer then she maybe sick"

  "Oh... Pokemon certainly are fascinating along with the technology you use to put them in. I've never once seen this thing you've been calling a Pokeball" Zossie picked up the empty circular object looking at it and rolling it around in her hands.

  "Pokemon are amazing, and I don't fully know how the Pokeball was made. I heard that it came from another world very similar to ours" I explained and Zossie seemed interested as her eyes almost seemed to sparkle.

  "Really? What is that world called exactly?"

  "I'm not fully sure... Earth maybe...?" I really wasn't sure... I only know the things I do from skimming through a book my (mother/father) made me read. I honestly wished now that I read it over more carefully.

  "I see... Maybe we can go visit that place some time" I nodded as it went quiet, I glanced at Zossie as she stared at the ground like she was in thought. "Hey (y/n)?" I jumped slightly not expect for Zossie to start talking.

  "What is it?"

  "Why does Dulse act to different around you?" The questioned caught me off guard as I stared at her. What does she mean by that?

  "What do you mean?"

  "Dulse just seems to act more friendly or close to you, he's normally so serious and tries to study and learn any things he can. It sometimes gets annoying at how boring he can be" Zossie explained. Dulse really acts that much differently around me? I could only shake my head as I didn't  really have a proper answer for her.

  "I don't know" I looked away from Zossie and down at Grace. I never really noticed but he does act much different around me. Though at the begin he treated me like everyone else. He'd ask me questions relating about my world and I'd answer each of his questioned. He'd look so serious but now he acts so kind and gentle with me. Like a complete switch over from his normal attitude.

  Giggling reached my ears as I glance up at Zossie.  She seemed highly amused by the situation.

  "W-what?"

  "I think I may know why he acts like that around you now (y/n)"

  "Why?"

  "He has feeling for you" after Zossie told me that the pieces start fitting together. Why he bought me the necklace, the kiss on the forehead, why he got so worried, and why we almost kissed... Man I really am naive or just really slow...

  "O-okay but what do I do about it?" My cheeks were now burning as I looked away from Zossie.

  "Tell him, from the way you act around him its obvious to tell you two have a thing for each other" Zossie explained making me look at her.

  "You really think I should tell him"

  "Positive, I'm almost sure you won't regret it"

  "But it's only been three weeks now"

  "The length of time doesn't matter (y/n) but the time you've already spent together. You won't get too far if you don't take chances" I thought about Zossie's words and slowly nodded.

  "Alright I'll talk to him about it later" Zossie seemed to cheer and I'm now starting to get the reason why she came in here. Her little cheer went on for a while longer before she jumped up offering me a smile.

  "Alright, I've got to go help Soliera with a few things. Make sure you talk to Dulse later" I nodded at Zossie statement as she skipped towards the door opening and leaving the room shutting the door behind her. It was once again silent before being broken by my sigh. I shifted and gently lifted Grace up placing her in the same blankets with Silver. Silver cracked open an eye only to shut it again. Grace didn't even twitch. I rubbed my backside trying to help the numbness and pain. If Dulse is currently doing business in town no point in my trying to hunt him down.

  A yawn passed though my lips as I stretched my arms over my head. I'm feeling a bit tired at the moment and maybe getting some rest will do me a little good. I switched off the lights before climbing in the white sheets and blanket. A content sigh escaped as I got comfortable. I curled up and it only took a few short second before my eyes lids started feeling heavy, and not long after they closed and I fell into a deep sleep.
