Note: Sorry it took us a long time before this update. @StrangeGrounds and I have been very busy. Oh and just a few more chapters and In Search of You is already ending. Thank you to everyone who supported this book. This was just supposed to be a writing exercise between us but it turned out to be so much more. :)

Why is it ending? I'm going to be working again soon. I'd have lesser time for writing.  Also, classes are going to start in June and @StrangeGrounds is going back to medical school. It's a hard life of studying and he'd have no time to write. I don't want another unfinished book on my profile so we agreed to end it for now. This is going to be part 1. We'll decide if there's going to be another book when we have time. Maybe next year we'd get to write again. :)

Chapter dedicated to SoziKhider who made the awesome fan-art on the side. :)

CHAPTER 12

Astrid’s sides smarted as she walked with Khan through their village. She was actually feeling a lot better now since the accident with the danore, considering it happened only days ago. The bitter medicine the healer gave her was doing wonders to alleviate her pains and mend her wounds, but she was far from being back to her full capacity. She could feel the efforts of the travel taxing her body, even if she did sleep through most of it. What she needed was a good night’s rest, and maybe a nice meal…

“Astrid?” Khan said, waving his hand in front of her face to catch her attention.

“Oh, I’m sorry Khan. You were saying something?” She didn’t realize she’d spaced out while walking.

“Exhausted, huh?” He asked. Astrid nodded weakly. “Well alright, I was going to give you a tour of Hleo, but I guess that can wait.” Khan was a younger version of his brother; he had the same hard eyes but his features were less travel worn.

“Your village’s name is Hleo?” She asked.

“Yes. My brother never told you?”

“I guess he never mentioned it, considering we were busy trying to survive the trip back.”

“Fair enough. Hleo means shelter in Ayrean. Brother should’ve at least told you our predicament, right?” Khan asked, his voice losing a hint of playfulness. Astrid nodded in reply.

The young man sighed audibly, but before he could continue a voice from behind them called out his name. They turned to see a man, naked save for work trousers and sandals, running towards them with a wide smile on his face. He barreled onto Khan, who welcomed him with open arms.

“I’m glad you’re back, Khan.” The man said, breathless from running, locking Khan in a tight embrace. “Why didn’t you come see me immediately?” He cupped Khan’s face in his hands and kissed him. Astrid felt herself blush.

“I had orders from the Eion to bring our honored guest to his house to rest. Agon, this is Astrid.” Khan gestured to her. Agon let go of Khan, turned to her and bowed.

“Astrid, it is a pleasure to meet you.” He said courteously, his curly shoulder length hair tumbling down.

“The pleasure is all mine, Agon.” She replied too quickly – she wasn’t used to being greeted like that. As Agon rose she noticed the questioning look he gave Khan, and the small nod that Khan gave in return. It was gone in a split second, replaced by Agon’s amiable smile. He asked if he could walk with them to the Eion’s household, a request that Khan willingly obliged to.
