Let me tell you about introverts.

Yes, they are quiet, and no, they are not antisocial. No, they are not shy. They are constantly listening and observing. They can't stand small talk. They are the kind who will sit with you and talk about deep, meaningful topics for hours.

Introverts are much more content sitting in their room alone at night, smiling to themselves as they watch their favourite TV show, than being out in the uncomfortable situation that involves them pretending to have the good time of their lives with too many people. For them, silence isn't empty, it is full of answers. They really do have a lot to say sometimes. They are just careful about who they open up to.

Such people like being alone. They have control over their own space. In order to win them over, your presence has to make them feel better than their solitude. You are not competing with another person, you are competing with their comfort zone. More than half of the time, they will choose to be with their book or with an animal instead of you. And it is exactly in that moment that they will take note of whether you walk away or if your still stay. Their circle is small because they're into quality, not quantity.

If you are too tired to speak, sit next to a quiet person, because they too are fluent in silence. They know best that the monotony and solitude of a quiet life stimulates the creative mind. As introverts, they crave meaningful one-on-one conversations with like-minded persons. When in large groups, they tend to get quiet, and will make an early exit as soon as they feel overwhelmed. But those conversations, like the ones mentioned above, are like magic for them. They come alive once again. It kindles their hearts and warms their souls when they capture your undivided attention.

If such people show you the real side of themselves, you should feel damn special. They have an obsession with quotes because other people are better at putting their feelings into words than they are. But then, they may be the poets themselves too.

The truth is, they feel more lonely in a large group than they would just being alone. That's the thing about introverts; they wear their chaos beautifully on the inside where no one can see it.
