“Ladies and gentlemen, put your hands together for Jackie Woods!!!!!!” The announcer screamed into the mic.

My best friend came out in the cutest outfit ever!

She started singing the new song I wrote for her.

“You know that I’m a crazy bitch! I do what I want when I feel like it! All I wanna do is lose control! But you don’t really give a shit! You go with it, go with it, go with it! Cause you’re fuckin’ crazy rock n roll!”

I smiled when she saw me in the crowd.

A few minutes later, the song ended. The music for a song I had only heard a few times before came on.

“Just gonna stand there, and watch me burn. But that’s alright because I like the way it hurts. Just gonna stand there and hear me cry, but that’s alright because I love the way you lie!”

The crowd went wild.

Then a really cute guy came out. I couldn’t see his face, but his voice was incredible. He rapped with Jackie and the crowd went ballistic.

During a music break, Jackie saw me and mouthed, “I think I found your soul mate!”

I smiled and shook my head no. I already had a boyfriend and I loved him. 7 months, baby!

The song ended and I ran backstage to see my best friend.

She ran up to me and hugged me. I hugged back.

“You did so well!!!!!!!!!!” I screamed.

“Thanks! I couldn’t do it without your awesome song!!” she said.

The cute guy from before came up to congratulate Jackie. Before he could do so, Jackie introduced us.

“AJ, this is-”

“This is your final warning, there’s a dark cloud overhead. This is your final warning, just remember what I said, someone’s gonna get hurt. Na na na na, na na na na na. Someone’s gonna get hurt, Na na na na, and it’s not gonna be me.”

“Damn it! Stupid alarm!” I grumbled to myself, rolling over to face my alarm. I stretched my arm out and slammed it down on the clock. I wasn’t really tired anymore, so I rolled my lazy fat ass out of bed and walked downstairs into the kitchen. My boyfriend Wesley was standing over the island, eating a blueberry muffin. He saw me walk in the doorway and smiled.

“Mornin’ Beautiful,” he greeted.

I gave a small smile in return and walked over to the fridge. I opened the door and pulled out a slice of leftover pizza from last night. Yeah, I’m eating cold pizza for breakfast. Whatcha gon’ do ‘bout it?

Wesley saw my choice of breakfast and made a face.

“Babe, how can you eat that crap? That’s not breakfast, that’s lunch or dinner.”

I made sure Wes was looking at me, and then I took a huge bite from the slice. I chewed and swallowed it and said, “That’s how.”

I knew that doing that would annoy him, and who doesn’t love pissing off their boyfriends at 9:30 in the morning?

Wes rolled his eyes and smiled. ¨Oh, how I love you.¨

I grinned as he gave me a sideways hug. I was going to say something to him, but just then my phone decided to be an ass and ring.

¨C´mon let me ride your bicycle, so fantastical, on your bicycle! We can get a little more physical; baby, after all, it´s only natural! ¨

Damn, I have a lot of Skylar Grey shit! Not that I really care, I love her, she’s like my woman crush Wednesday every week.

I walked out of Wes’ embrace and leaned against the fridge, hitting the answer button on my iPhone.

I didn’t check to see who it was, so I was surprised when my manager, Cade, spoke into my ear.

“AJ! How’s it going?” Cade didn’t speak to me formally, like most managers or businessmen would to their clients. He spoke to me like I was a normal human being, not his paycheck.

“Hey Cade.  Why are you calling me so early?” I had told Cade time and time again that I hated getting up early. He better have a good reason for this.

“Well, I have some exciting news!”

 “And that is…”

“My friend Brian just opened up new studio in LA.  He asked if I could help him get some business, so I told him that you would love to go down there and check it out.”

We fought for a few minutes before Cade finally just gave up. “Ugh,! AJ, just go already! As your manager it’s my duty to make sure you take every opportunity possible for your career!”

I gave up, too, and Cade had a point. “I’m so gonna regret this.”

“Just get down here by tomorrow!” He yelled, obviously happy he won.

Then I heard the dial done, signaling he hung up.

 Great, just great.
