Chapter 38

Madelaine's POV
"Hey I'm going to go see Alec" I tell Jace who nods at me giving me a quick hug before letting me go. I smile at the small gesture before going to Alec's room

My heart dropped as I saw him and Bella talking before she wraps her arms around him and he wraps his around her too.

But that wasn't what hurt me. What hurt was the fact she leaned up and kissed him. You could say I'm over reacting over a kiss on the cheek but I don't care

It hurt that he didn't do anything. He just let it happen. My heart feels heavy. Alec looks over in my direction and his eyes widen seeing me

I don't stay much longer though as I make a bolt to Izzy's room. I hear heavy footsteps following me so I pick up the pace

Soon I am in Izzy's room and I quickly lock the door just as Alec is about to enter. Izzy looks alarmed and then worried.

"Madelaine!" Alec yells through the door and I shake my head no even though he can't see me.

"Go away!" I yell back and I hear him sigh but I don't hear footsteps instead I hear a body sliding down the floor and immediately know he is leaning against the door

I then walk over to Izzy and she immediately gives me a hug. "What happened?" she questions and I sigh in annoyance

"She kissed him. And he didn't do anything to stop it." I say in a defeated tone. "She kissed him on the mouth?" She says and I shake my head no

"On the cheek. I think I'm slightly over reacting but it hurt seeing him eith another girl. I never want to be a jelious girlfriend but...." I trail off not finding the words to say

"You have every right to be this way Mads. That filthy witch touched what's yours." Izzy spits out and I chuckle

"He isn't my property Iz. I can't control his life" I say walking to her bed laying down on the comfortable pillows.

"You know what you need?" Izzy grins and I am left generally confused. "What?" I ask and she goes into her closet picking out a casual outfit.

"We are going to get ice cream" She says and I quickly jump up at the mention of ice cream. "Yay!" I say and we both get changed into clothes that Izzy handed me

When we are walking out I completely forget that Alec was leaning against the door still so when I open it he falls landing on his back with a groan

"Alec!" I say quickly helping him up. "Maddie!" he says his eyes brightening and I quickly remove my hand from his shoulder glancing at Izzy for help

"Sorry Alec were going out" Izzy quickly says grabbing my hand and dragging me away

"Hey! Where you guys off to" Jace says as we bump into him "ice cream. Want to join?" I ask and he grins nodding

"No Alec" He says looking around and I frown a bit before looking at him. "No Alec just us." I say and he looks confused but nods nevertheless

Once we make it to the ice cream shop and get our ice cream we sit in a cute little booth outside.

"Are one of you going to tell me why your avoiding Alec?" Jace says with a mouthful of ice cream

"Were not avoiding him" I mumble suddenly losing my appetite. "I'm full I am going to throw out my stuff." I say and they nod as I get up looking for a trash can

I then see one by the corner so I begun walking to it. As I'm throwing it out someone laughs and I look in the dark alley way that was there.

That laugh sounds so familiar. I look back at Izzy and Jace who were talking about something before looking back at the alley way
