You saved me in every possible way, but I was pretty sure you're also gonna be the death of me.

I pulled away to breathe after you drank the prayers and worship straight from my lips. It's funny how kissing you felt like I was beneath the waves, but this time I didn't drown. Instead, you pulled me up into my highest point.

Yellow lights grazed half of your face as you laid down facing me. My eyes drifted from your flushed cheeks to your swollen lips and there's no doubt that mine looked like that, too. Your eyes closed and I scooted closer, kissing them open while you giggled.

"I... Al-Althea, I lo—"

You put your fingers on my lips, shushing me for the first time. But I didn't mind, for what you said next was worth of all my silence.

"I do, too."
