Chocolate Cake

"What happened to your face?!"

"What do you mean?"

I look up to see Ashton's eyes flickering between his, and his wolf's. Not answering he holds up his phone, a flash goes off, signaling a picture has been taken. He turns it so the screen is facing me. A very unflattering picture of me stares back, several bruises are forming where I had landed on my face, as well as a few scratches. I cringe thinking about that being my possible caller i.d. photo, eww.

"I was training and I didn't do so well."

"Who was training you?"

"Oh, I don't think you've met him."

I shrug, brushing past him and into the now abandoned kitchen a glance at the clock tells me I'd been training for six hours. No wonder I feel like I'm about to pass out!

"You don't know that, tell me who."

I roll my eyes, opening the refrigerator door, my eyes scanning for anything quick and some what nutritious to eat. They land on a half of a chocolate cake. Perfect! Pulling it out gently, I straighten my bent back, and place it gingerly atop the counter.

"Why do you care so much, want to train, too?"

I pull a fork out of the drawer, directly under where I'd placed the cake. Oh sweet moonlight, take me now! This is what heaven taste like!

Heavy footsteps pound into the kitchen, but I can't bring myself to care. Moon, this cake!

"We aren't finished training, Jen- what are you doing?"

"Eatmmm, waght somm?"

The words come out completely distorted, as my mouth is currently jammed packed with chocolate cake.

"I should have known, you'd be gorging yourself."

I swallow with a bit of a struggle.

"I'm hungry, Joe. I haven't eaten all day, and We've been training for six hours!"

"You'll need to be able to fight a lot longer then that if if you want to make it. And you're the one who tossed your breakfast across the room."

"I know that, that's why I'm eating, so I can keep going. And I wouldn't have tossed that witches brew across the room if I hadn't been choking to death on it."

He rolls his eyes before marching over and snatching the cake away. Before I could grab it back, he's already tossing it into the trash bin.
I stare at him in disbelief. Rude! I wasn't finished.

"Do yourself a favor and drink more water. You won't have as much empty space to fill then. After seeing your eating habits it's no wonder there's so much space."

"Are you calling me fat?!"

"I never said that, I love you no matter what, you know that. All I'm saying is, cake for the face makes inches for the waist"

With my appetite gone I walk over to the sink, washing my utensil, hands and face. Before turning around to face him.

"I'm ready to start training again."

"I think you should stay here."

I had almost forgotten Ash was still here. Now I can see by his face, he is less then happy, probably about being ignored.
