"Would you stop?" I laugh, gently whacking Damian's arm from the passenger seat.

"You don't like my singing?" He gives me a frown that quickly turns into a smile.

"You ruin Christmas music," I smile.

"You wish," he scoffs.

"Let the radio cover the music aspect of this car ride," I smirk.

"The attitude with you," he shakes his head.

"But you love me anyway," I grin.

"I really do," he smiles, grabbing my hand and kissing the back of it. "Do you want to spend the night? Tomorrow's the first day of Christmas break so your mom shouldn't have a problem with it."

"My mom has a problem with everything," I roll my eyes.

"It's one night," he groans. "What does she think is gonna happen?"

"You'll get me pregnant," I smile.

"Well since you feel the need to tell her everything she already knows we use protection," he laughs.

"She asked how far we've gone, I wasn't gonna lie to her," I defend. "That never ends well."

"I know," he sighs.

"I love you," I say.

"I love you, too," he smiles, turning his head to kiss me for a second.

We pull away and I turn back to the snowy road ahead of us.

"Damian!" I yell as the truck in front of us slams on the brakes.

"Autumn!" He yells.

My vision goes black as I hear a crash.

I hear a constant beep as I open my eyes. I feel a needle in my arm and see wires beside me on my hospital bed.

"Hey, sweetie," my mom smiles, lightly kissing my forehead.

"What happened?" I ask.

"You and Damian got into a car accident on your way home," she frowns. "The roads were icy and it was snowing and a truck stopped short in front of you."

"Is Damian okay?" I ask.

She hesitates before answering.

"The doctors haven't told me much," she says.

"I want to see him," I demand.

"You just woke up after a car accident that happened three days ago," she says. "You aren't going anywhere."

"I have to go see him," I assert.

"Come here, dear," she pulls me into a hug.

"Where is he?" I ask.

"Autumn," she frowns, my hands in hers. "The accident was pretty bad, you're lucky to be alive."

"I don't care how lucky I am, I want Damian," I tell her.

"Honey," she sighs. "Damian didn't make it. I'm so sorry."

"What?" I ask. "That can't be right. He can't be dead."

"I'm so sorry, Autumn," she frowns.

I lay my head on her shoulder as tears begin flowing down my cheeks. I sob into her shirt and she pulls her body away from mine.

"I brought you this," she hands me one of Damian's sweatshirts and I quickly grab it and hug it to my chest.

"This has to be a nightmare," I cry into it.

"I wish it was," she tells me.

The casket is lowered into the ground and I try to hold in my sobs. Damian's best friend comes to stand next to me and wraps an arm around me.

"It's okay," he whispers. "He really loved you."

"I really loved him, too," I frown.

"Come here," he pulls me into a hug.

"Thanks, Thomas," I say.
