Chapter 29 • Mrs. Luke Wilson •

Inhale. Exhale. Inhale. Exhale.

Okay, so now the nerves were finally kicking in. I don't know why. It's not like anything will change between us. Only thing is that I'd have his last name.

I needed to calm down before I start hyperventilating. All the things that could go wrong today were rushing through my head.

What if he changes his mind and leaves me at the alter? No. Luke would never do that. I really need to get these thoughts from out of my mind.

"Hey", my mother came up from behind of me dabbing my face with a handkerchief, "You're sweating. What's wrong?"

"Nothing", I stepped away from her, "I'm just a bit nervous."

"Everything will go perfectly, sweetheart. Now, stop worrying. We have five minutes until you need to walk down the isle. Remember, Luke is in love with you. Just keep that in mind", she squeezed my hand before walking away to make sure the bride's maids are in order.

The bride's maids and the groomsmen were paired and will be walking down the isle before me. Audrey was my maid of honor while Mason was Luke's best man. Much to Audrey's dismay she had to be paired with him.

Mason wasn't that bad but considering how he was basically a walking sexual innuendo machine Audrey immediately disliked him.

My father appeared and offered me his elbow. I hooked my hand to him and he kissed my cheek, "You look beautiful."

"Thanks, Dad."

I couldn't be happier than I am now. Everything was perfect. After all I've been through my life is finally back on track. My parents were as loving as ever and my siblings were the best.

I wished that my childhood memories were filled with them and not my fake parents even though my childhood wasn't so bad. I tried not to let my thoughts drift to forbidden directions as I caught on to where it was heading after mentioning my childhood.

I refuse to think about that retched woman on the happiest day of my life. Today would be filled with nothing but joy. I had my real parents now, siblings, my best friend, the love of my life and my wedding gift to him so there is no reason for today to get ruined.

I was so lost in thought that I only realized it was time when my mother shoved my bouquet in my hands and the double doors opened. The decorations were magnificent but what outshined them was the man standing in his crisp black tuxedo at the alter.

His eyes widened a little as his eyes first laid on me. A breathtaking smile lit his face and he looked down for a moment blinking rapidly. When he looked back up to stare at me I noticed the unshed tears in his eyes.

Oh gosh. He's actually crying. Now, he's making me want to cry. I held back my tears and for the first time they didn't betray me and escaped.

At this moment, looking into the tears-filled eyes of my fiancé I realized that there's nothing I want more than to spend the rest of my life with this man.

I'd stop fighting him whenever he brings up merging our companies. We'd raise our own family. Travel the world together. Get old. I can't imagine doing any of those things with anyone else.

Luke stepped down as I reached the end of the isle. My father gave me away with eyes narrowed at Luke, "We've had the talk about if you hurt my daughter", he said in a low voice.

"Yes, Sir."

"Remember it", he nodded then stepped back.

Luke helped me up the four steps and we stood in front of the priest.
