My heart is racing with adrenaline. The uneven beats raking through my chest.

"Ready?" Finnick asks.

I nod with a smile on my face and take his hand in mine.

"JUMP" We both yell.

We both jump off of the waterfall that we had climbed to land in the warm springs that were below us.

Once I resurface I see Finnick grinning ear to ear.

"I can't believe we just did that!" I yell happily.

"It was amazing." He smiles.

"I love the adrenaline rush! There is nothing that feels like that." I state, looking up to the top of the waterfall where we jumped.

"I can think of something." Finnick teases.

I roll my eyes at his insinuation but laugh regardless.

He swims closer and wraps his arms around my waist. I smile up at him and wrap my arms around his neck pulling his head down to mine.

Before we can get too far a sudden scream pulls us out of our bliss. We quickly get out of the water and Finnick gives me his tee shirt to throw on over my swim suit. We rush back into the city of District Four. We weren't too far but by the time we get in town I'm out of breath.

People are crying in the streets, they look around in distress.

"I'm so sorry." A man pats me on the shoulder as he walks past us.

"Why? What's going on?" Finnick asks the man.

"You didn't hear the news?"

Finnick and I both look at each other then shake our heads no.

"Snow has declared it so this years tributes will be reaped from the existing pool of mentally and physically able victors. We all love you guys and all that you do for the community. Neither of you deserve to have to go in again." He pats Finnick in the shoulder and looks at us with sadness before continuing walking away.

My heart starts to race in an uneven pattern again. This time, not in a good way.

I pull Finnick in for a tight hug without saying anything.

"Finn." My eyes well up with tears.

"We are the only stable victors in Four." I state.

With this, Finnick pulls me in even tighter.

"What are we going to do?" I ask, I let one tear slip away from my eye.

"I don't know."

Three days later.

It was no surprise when we went into the games, since we were the only options. Finnick and I have grown to be more accepting over the past few days.

"What are we supposed to do about training?" I laugh to myself.

"What do you mean?" Finn asks.

"Well, Mags trained you but she's not here anymore. And then you trained me. Now what?" I ask.

"Well, I think I'll be okay. Obviously you're still in shape, you just won two years ago." Finnick smiles.

"Ahh, two years ago. Back when this all started." I wrap my arms around Finnick's waist.

"You hated me at the beginning." Finnick laughs.

"I hated everyone. I was lashing out about the games." I rest my head on Finnick's chest, "I only acted especially awful to you because you were cute and funny. You were easily going to break through my walls."

Finnick pulled you away, holding you at arms length.

"I didn't know that." He smiles.

"Yeah. Definitely had a huge crush on you."

"That's cute. I had a crush on you too." Finnick laughs.

"You did? How inappropriate a teacher having a crush on a student?" I act shocked with a laugh.

"Yeah, and look where it got me." He kisses the top of my head.

"Tomorrow." I state.

"Tomorrow we start training."

"Let's give them hell."
