Chapter 16

Yugi's POV

I woke up to a sight I thought that I would never see. Atem's ruffled hair in the morning. I sit up and see he is still asleep. I decide to get up and start a bath for us. As I put the bath bomb in, I feel a pair of arms wrap themselves around me. "Hey Atem, how did you sleep," I say with a smile. "I slept well thank you. Is this for us," he asks. "Of course it is," I say. We both strip and get into the large bathtub together. "So you'll have to present everyone as new members of your court, are you ready for that," he asks. "Of course and I really want everyone to know who they are," I say.

We both bathe each other and relax with each other. When the bath is over, we both dress in Pharaoh attire. I told him to dress like that because to me, he is the second Pharaoh. We walked down to the throne room and found everyone there. "Thank you everyone for choosing to stay. I hope to make every single one of you proud as the Pharaoh and also as friends. You are all very close friends of mine and Atem's and I couldn't think of a better court to have here. We have all had to fight to be here and I am looking forward to many happy years together," I say and they clap.

"You know we are all happy to be here too," says Mana. "Alright everything is ready and the people are gathered outside," says Ishizu. "Atem I want you to walk out with me as I have a special announcement and it involves you," I say. He nods and we walk up to the curtain and our council lines up behind us. The curtain is pulled aside and we both walk out hand in hand. The people cheer as we walk out to the end of the balcony. I hold up a hand and the crowd silences.

"People of Egypt. I thank you for trusting me in this troubling time. I can confidently tell you that it is now over. The darkness that has plagued our world is now vanquished," I say and the crowd cheers loudly at this. "I couldn't have done this alone. It was a combined effort," I say and as I say this, the members of my court come forward a bit more. "There was more people involved than you see here and you know who they are. They are the ones who defended you and got you to the caves and out of the danger zone. I thank each and every person for their courage and perserverance," I say.

The crowd cheers again. "I also have an annoucement to make. I am going to be sharing my title as Pharaoh with the man you see right next to me. His name is Atem, but you will also call him Pharaoh just as you do me," I say and they bow to us showing respect. I grip his hand and smile at him and he smiles back. "Also I present to you my court," I say and they show their respect and clap for them. "Everyone enjoy the celebration," I say and we go back inside. We go back to the party in the throne room. Everyone was invited and people of all classes were invited into the palace.

They gave their respects to everyone and enjoyed the celebration with us. Atem and I sat side by side on the throne. We could see that the party was going throughout the city along with the palace. I could tell that the good times were ahead of us. Of course it was hard getting here, but I wouldn't change a thing for it. I lost my father which lead me to being Pharaoh. I knew I had Atem watching over me and I wanted to do well for everyone. I smile and think that I have finally done that. The whole country is at peace now. I smile looking over everyone.

Later after the party was done, Atem and I retreated back to our rooms. "Wow, I had no idea you were planning all this," he says. "Everything for you and I want you as my equal Atem," I say and he holds me. We both walk out onto our balcony that looks over the garden. The view is so beautiful in the moonlight. I look back at Atem and his eyes just shine and I can feel them gazing into my soul. He smiles down at me and caresses my face. "I love you Yugi. More than words can ever describe," he says. "I love you too," I say and we kiss beneath the moonlight.

Unknown POV

I watch as the two Pharaohs kiss with disgust. "So The Dark One failed. Those two feel like their on top of the world now," says a man. "Oh please. He may have been Darkness personified, but he had a major weakness. I have none," I say and twirl my long hair in my finger watching them. "Are you gonna sit here and watch them or ruin their night," he says. "I'll let them party for now. They better prepare themselves because I am coming for them. Egypt will be mine," I say watching them.
