"So what have you learned from my story? Because, let's be real, my life is just one giant lesson. I feel like I've learned a lot from my life and I wouldn't trade what I've been through for anything else in the world because it has brought me to where I am today. It has given me my identity, what I know is real, and allowed me to fight what I don't know. Because of the experiences of my life, I was a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, I was a soldier, I was an Avenger. And now, I am a wife, which I never thought I'd ever say. I honestly thought I wasn't going to survive most of my time on Earth, let alone make the absolute best of it. I have learned about all of the hard things, adversity, hardship, loss, heartache. So you'd think learning something positive would be a breeze. But one of the hardest things I ever had to do was learn to open up myself to others. And with Steve, that was so easy. He is one of the best things that has come into my life. I was so broken when I became an agent. I had lost my parents, my brother, and my sense of normalcy. But being through everything I have, I come out healed, and stronger than I ever was before. I met Steve at a time in my life when I was ready to quit. I just didn't want to suffer anymore. But thanks to Nick, I got picked for an assignment that changed my life for the better. You have taught how to see the positives in life, how to dance in the rain. I am so blessed that I have met the man of my dreams. Because I knew you, I have been changed for good. I just want to say thank you, Steve, for being my rock, my knight in shining armour, my savoir, my healer, and my best friend. I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with you."
As I sit back down, I raise my glass, causing the whole room to follow.
"To forever." I say, and they repeat, afterwords taking a sip of the champagne. I take a sip and look at Steve. He peels his eye away from the crowded room and his eyes land on me. I smile up at him and he leans down to kiss me. Everyone cheers and laughs. But suddenly, I feel a rumble. I break from our kiss and look up, the tent blocking my view. I look around and every one of the Avengers stands up. I run out, holding my dress up. I finally get out of the tent when I see a black circular, almost portal-like thing floating in the sky.
"Steve!" I yell out, ripping the veil from my hair. "He's here."
You didn't think I could have a happy ending, could you? Well I almost did. I'm honestly not surprised that my wedding got crashed by a grapey boi, but hey, we roll with the punches in the Roger's household. Thank you for reading my story, but it's not over yet. Our journey is just beginning. The Avengers were divided but, in the word of good ol' Nick Fury, "The Avengers are a promise, they are here to fight the battles that we never could, and they'll come together again, when we need them to." Welp, you needed us, so here we are.
