Crowed Noise

I can no longer hide it.
I'm not smart enough to find them.
Cross-eyed and terrified.
Having the time of my life.

In the end what does it matter.
Where I land if I find her.
I don't think that I can remember.
It being this hot in November.

And when I'm old, and talking sideways...
I won't know what I forgot.
And when I'm down and looking backwards...
All I am is what I'm not.

In the darkness under lights.
In the bathroom doing lines.
Boogie in and boogie back.
You know the Beatles started that.

Some dreaming flowers down in my pocket.
Hold my beer I'll try and find it.
They play all night, that's what they told me.
Out of drums a spacey Mercy.

And when I'm old, and talking sideways...
I won't know what I forgot.
And when I'm down and looking backwards...
All I am is what I'm not.

What's with all these empty highways.
Everyone is moving sideways.
My fellow pilgrims and I know.
The joys of life are on the road.

And I can no longer hide it.
I'm not smart enough to find them.
Cross-eyed and terrified.
Having the time of my life.
