trident

atlantis was a beautiful kingdom, sitting right on the edge of the ocean, it's castle watching over the turbulent seas and it's citizens. the neighboring kingdom of camelot was settled into the countryside, the two kingdoms had a long standing alliance, one spanning from the first kings to rule over the land

they had a close relationship, the two kings as close as brothers, the two queens as sisters, a bond like no other, one that could never be broken

when atlantis welcomed the first heir, a son, camelot celebrated with them, when they welcomed a second son camelot celebrated again, but silently wept for the queen that could bare no heirs and when camelot was finally able to celebrate the birth of an heir, they mourned the loss of a queen— and the thousands of people that practiced magic

when atlantis welcomed the third heir, the first princess, camelot did not celebrate, they mourned for the people of magic that were being slaughtered on the streets

atlantis distanced themselves from camelot, fearing for their own people, fearing for the secrets of the crown, eventually the distance grew so far that camelot and atlantis had become nothing to each other but a allied neighboring kingdom

the king of atlantis could no longer sit idle and watch as magic was assaulted, and opened his kingdom to any magic and all magic users running from the wrath of the mad king of camelot, that was what served the centuries old bond between camelot and atlantis for good

but it didn't sever the relationship between the youngest heirs, a friendship they kept in the shadows, fearful of the kings reaction should they be found out

but the secrecy would end years later when atlantis would be in the middle of a war and the desperate king would call upon the mad king as last resort to protect his youngest heir and with the helping hand of the fates the king would open his castle and the bond between two kingdoms would start anew
