Friday, December 1, 2016-

I walked into an empty apartment with no sight of Matthew anywhere. The place looked clean just like how I left it before I left to go to my class.

Today was a bit weird, I tried to contact Ryan to see if we could hang out after but he didn't respond. I haven't seen Matthew since yesterday morning but only for a tad minute before he rushed out the door.

Since I had no plans on a nice Friday afternoon, I decided to just head to bed. I didn't even realize what today was until I had an incoming call from my mother.

"Hello?" I spoke, I walked around the apartment checking inside the rooms if Burnie was there, but he wasn't home either.

"Happy Birthday, dear!!" I flinched when my mother and father yelled, I couldn't help but smile while my cheeks turn slightly pink. "You're 18! Oh my goodness, we're getting so old." My father chuckled.

"Thank you, mom and dad. Mom you're not that old, aren't you only like 35?" I teased.

"Oh dear, I wish." We all three laughed. "I wish we were there to celebrate with you."

"I do too." I admitted. "It's okay I'll be seeing you guys in like 20 days." I said.

"Yes, I already have the Christmas decorations up." My mother said.

"They've been up since October." My father teased my mother, I giggled when I heard a smack on the other head of the phone and my mother arguing with my father. "What? It's true!"

"Anyways, What are you doing for your birthday, sweetie? Did you and Matthew plan anything?" My body stiffened. I forgot they didn't know we broke up already.

"Uh, not that I know of." I scratched the back of my head. "I haven't seen him actually."

"Maybe he's going to surprise you."

"Maybe." I doubt it.

"Well, we would love to talk to you some more but you're father and I are actually on our way to catch our flight."

"Flight?" I questioned.

"We have a business meeting we have to attend at San Fransisco."

"Oh, I see. Well I'll call you guys tomorrow maybe?"

"Yes, don't forget. Happy 18th birthday, sweetie! We love you!"

"I love you both so much. Thank you." Then they ended the call.

I kept my phone in my hand and walked into the kitchen to look for something to eat. The fridge was empty and all we had in it was a water bottle. I wasn't really in the mood to head to the grocery store even though Matthew bought groceries the other day and now it's all gone.
