Later that night, Helena got ready for her date with Carlos. She wore a knee-length off the shoulder lace vintage flare dress. To go along with the outfit, she wore a burgundy red rose and pearl flower crown atop of her head and black heels on her feet.
Helena hurriedly made her way toward the door once she heard someone knock, opening to find her boyfriend on the other side. A smile appeared on Carlos' face when he saw his girlfriend, grabbing her hand and pulling her toward him.
"You look beautiful," Carlos whispered in her ear, placing a kiss on her cheek. Helena blushed and shut the door behind her as quietly as she could that she wouldn't disturb a sleeping Evie or Mal. "Are you ready to go?"
"Let's get out of here."
Hand-in-hand, the happy couple left the dorms and headed outside, taking the secret path to a spot that only they knew about. Helena smiled brightly when she saw all that Carlos prepared for their date. There were lights on the ground that led to their gazebo, the moon shining bright about them. Candles were resting on the table in middle of the gazebo along with two glasses full of drinks and a picnic basket.
"Do you like it?" Carlos asked, wrapping his arms around Helena from behind. "I even prepared the food myself."
"You mean bought," Helena corrected.
The couple went to the gazebo, sitting next to each other on the couch with the table that had a picnic basket resting atop of it in front of them. Helena excitedly opened the picnic basket and began taking out all the food that Carlos brought. She was surprised to see the lengths that he went to for their date, but was happy nonetheless. It was the first time in what felt like forever, where they actually were able to be with each other privately. And they were enjoying every second of their date, talking, laughing, and occasionally feeding each other.
Carlos held a chocolate covered strawberry toward Helena, who opened her mouth and took a bite from the fruit. "So how does it taste?" The white-haired boy asked.
"Good. I like it," Helena answered after clearing the food from her mouth.
Carlos finished the strawberry before asking, "So how are you feeling?"
Recognizing the nervousness in his voice, Helena let out a chuckle. "Carlos, I feel great. How can there be anything wrong with tonight?"
"I'm not talking about tonight. I'm talking about the whole your father possibly Claiming you and the Cotillion thing."
Helena took a deep breath, not liking the new conversation subject. "Do we have to talk about that now?"
Noticing Helena becoming irritated at where the conversation was heading, Carlos reached out and grabbed Helena's hands. He didn't want to ruin the moment between them, but he knew that this was something that needed to be done. "I know that this relationship thing is new territory for us because of the whole villain thing, but we've known each other since we were kids. I know you better than I know myself, and I know that you're struggling with it. So, if you ever want to get it off your chest or just get away from it all, then I'll help you do just that. I'm here for you, Helena. I'll always be here for you."
Helena nodded, finding comfort in Carlos' words and his promise to always be by her side. "Thanks."
"Go. Vent, rant, get it all out."
Helena let out a sigh, ready to tell her boyfriend all the things that she has been keeping inside. "Honestly... I can't deal with all of this. I don't know if I can keep going living under this spotlight."
"Well the fame comes with being you. You're the daughter of the king and queen of the Underworld, your father being one of the Big Three. People are going to want to know you, and know everything about you," Carlos explained to Helena calmly as to make sure that she would not get annoyed.
