"So, Katniss, I know this isn't the best time to tell you, but I have been trying to tell you this for a while. It's now or never," Peeta stutters a little as he talks. He never stutters, never.

"What is it, Peeta?" I ask, cautiously. Whatever it is, it can't be good.

"Katniss, I..........."

---End of Recap---

"Katniss, I have to leave," Peeta says.

"Oh, okay. Well, I'll see you tomorrow," I say, hugging him. But he doesn't hug me back.

"No, Katniss, I mean I have to leave tomorrow. I'm going back home," he says slowly. What? No, he can't leave! We have just gotten back to the way it was before! I thought he said he loved me? I let go of him and look in his eyes.

"B-but home is so far away from here. It's far away from me," I whisper, with tears in my eyes.

"Katniss, it's going to be okay. Everything is going to be fine," Peeta says calmly, but a mix of anger and sadness rise up in my being, and I can't contain it.

"No! It's not Peeta! It's not going to be okay! My sister is in the hospital right now dying! I need you now more than ever, Peeta! And you're just gonna leave?! Fine! I don't care! Just go! Just go away, Peeta!" I yell at him. He looks somewhat hurt in his eyes.

"Katniss, wait-" Peeta starts, but I cut him off.

"No, Peeta! You just told me you loved me yesterday! And now you're leaving? Did I do something, Peeta? Because if I did, then I'm sorry! Just please, don't go! Please," I whisper the last part.

"I have to Katniss, but-" Peeta starts, but I cut him off again, not wanting to hear him.

"No, Peeta! Just leave! I...I need to get some air," I say. He starts to object, he has a hurt look on his face, but I don't care right now. I have tears streaming down my face by now. He steps closer to me, trying to hug me I think, but I push him away. "Go, Peeta!"

He lowers his head and walks to my door. Once he steps out, he looks back at me and opens his mouth like he wants to speak, but I don't let him. Instead, I walk up, and slam the door in his face.

I go to my room, sit on my bed, and call Annie.

"Hey, Annie," I say. You can still hear my uneasy voice from the tears that are still rolling down my cheeks.

"Katniss? Are you okay? You sound like you're crying," Annie says in a worried voice.

"I'm fine," I say not wanting to talk about Peeta yet. "I just wanted to know if it was too late for me to change my song for the talent show?"

"Um, no, I think it's fine as long as you have what you need. Are you playing the piano or using a cd?" Annie asks.

"Well I am going to change my song and play the piano with it. Is that a problem?" I ask.

"No, of course not," Annie says. "Are you sure you're okay, Katniss?"

"Yeah. I'll talk to you later, Ann. Bye," I say.

"Bye," she says and I hang up the phone.

I decide to practice my new song once before I go to bed. After I practice, I grab a granola bar, brush my teeth, and go to bed.

---Next Morning---

I wake up in the morning at 11:34am to find 13 missed calls and 29 text messages, all from Peeta. They all say something like 'Please talk to me' or 'I need to talk to you. Please call me', but I ignore them all. I don't want to talk to him. I have a few hours until the talent show, which is at 4:00pm. I call Annie, telling her to come over and bring Johannah in about an hour. I throw my hair up in a messy bun, put on some sweatpants and a hoodie, and go down to my car. I go pick up a doughnut and a hot chocolate from the cafe, and go back home. Annie and Jo should be here in about 10 minutes, so I decide to take a shower. Right when I step out and grab my towel, I hear a knock on the door.
