There was a slight disfiguration along the right side of Hagami's ribs. From having them injured and not properly cared for, she had them heal disfigured. But it couldn't be seen just purely from a glance or even a stare whilst she wore her clothing. The only way to tell was to prod for the wrongly mended bone and even then it was rather faint and hard to detect.
Samehada bore down on Hagami to which she rolled on her should to her right. A crater next to her warned that Kisame could be on the verge of killing the right now. But his eyes said otherwise as he withdrew Samehada and rested it on his shoulder. Pein and Konan had left a long time ago, or at least that's what Hagami had theorized since she couldn't sense their chakra right now, and Tobi was away taking care of "something else".
Hagami panted feverishly and she held her midsection where Kisame accidentally grazed her with Samehada. It wasn't deep at all, it just stung irritably. She had also lost the Sharingan in her eyes, not the ability, just at the moment she decided she didn't want to use it. However, that left her in a sort of blind state of being, she could only make out the Kisame's outline and define the gills on his face from his eyes, mouth, and nose.
"So, you really can't see?" Kisame asked and Hagami realized she had been squinting a little. "It's from all those times you've used the Amaterasu or Tsukuyomi, isn't it?"
"Tch," Hagami grunted and sighed afterwards. She retreated from her defensive position, "I never planned on losing my eyesight. It's a pain, you know? Not being able to keep your promises. I promised myself I'd never lose my light, but look at me now, I can barely make out your outline." She squinted again but it didn't seem to help much. "Blindness is the payment for the Mangekyō Sharingan. And here I used to fear it. Looks like that was pointless worrying."
"You've feared the Mangekyō Sharingan?" Kisame asked incredulously. From the moment and way Kisame met Hagami, he assumed then and there that Hagami didn't have a fear for anything.
Hagami sighed at this. Since the Akatsuki base was abandoned at the moment-Konan accompanied Pein to another base site, and the other members had their own missions-Hagami sat down on the steel floors, sitting Indian-style and waiting for Kisame to do the same. A few seconds later, Hagami heard Samehada beside her, the hilt touching her fingers and then Kisame's presence across from her. A rush of chakra filtered into her system, or at least the chakra that had been carefully siphoned away during their "training" match.
"I'll start from he beginning," Hagami began. "Okaasan and Otousan, both great Uchiha, committed suicide when I was five years old. This ignited my Sharingan, which I hid for many years after even when I was taken in my the Head of the Uchiha Clan because Otousan had a connection with him. I barely trained with the Sharingan but I had a second nature of observation that helped me along in developing it.
"Then, I met the son of Fugaku-san, Itachi-he was the Uchiha's recognized prodigy at the time and a year younger than me-and a close friend to him, Shisui, an Uchiha who also lost his parents when he was young-he was a prodigy too, but says that I've already outrun him." Hagami chuckled quietly to herself. "When the three of us connected into an unbreakable bond, it became relatively tough to keep my Sharingan a secret.
"Especially after an A-Rank mission awakened my Mangekyō Sharingan." Hagami's voice became bitter around the end. "My Squad was murdered in front of me, which shouldn't of affected me much if I hadn't of promised to protect them in the first place. After that, it became revealed to the world when I was around fourteen or fifteen years, around the time I left Konohagakure. I didn't think I used it enough to degrade my eyesight like this at this pace. I guess I flunked.
"But the reason I feared it is because of how much devastating power lies in the Mangekyō Sharingan. I have access to the Tsukuyomi, the ultimate Genjutsu, the Amaterasu, the ultimate offensive technique, and the Susanoo, the ultimate defensive technique. To think that my eyes could've been stolen, now that's why I never wanted to awaken it. I never want my eyes to be used for someone else's purposes." Hagami concluded.
"Do you know the person who awakened your Mangekyō Sharingan?" Kisame asked curiously. Somehow he regretted asking though when he saw Hagami's eyes darken.
"Do you really want to know?" Hagami asked and Kisame hummed a 'yes'. "The man who recruited you into Akatsuki. The Masked Man, Tobi."
The two of them sat in silence for a moment until the building suddenly shook. Hagami's senses snapped back into play and she shot to her feet. Kisame wasn't far behind him and the two glanced at each other.
"I thought Pein wasn't at the hideout anymore. I thought he was taking care of different matters!" Hagami hissed and wobbled around. Being locked up for three years put an agonizing strain on her body so she began circulating her chakra rapidly. "And there's another chakra there...and I know it." By circulating her chakra, it was similar to blood circulation where she gained "life" back into her limbs. It'd take a while for her body to be back to decent but she'd make sure she'd have it back by the end of the day.
"You can't leave this room." Kisame stated bluntly. "And even if you're able to get past me, you'd have to travel all the way up there." He pointed up, and considering they're in the underground parts of the tallest building, it'd be a long sprint. "And I plan to fight seriously if you plan to make a run for it." He pointed Samehada toward Hagami's neck.
"Whilst in Akatsuki, you've been...a good friend. I appreciated you accepting me but we have differing views. So I'll apologize now, gomenasai (sorry)." Kisame had been staring her directly in the eye when she used her Tsukuyomi to knock him out easily. There would be no nightmare or torture in this Tsukuyomi, just to knock him out until she reached a safe distance away.
Hagami's legs wobbled again as she ran but it was better than it would've been if she hadn't sped up the circulation of chakra in her body. She also began to amass chakra in her eyes so she'd be able to use Sharingan and Mangekyō Sharingan when the time came. Her endurance lagged too but it'd also be worse if Kisame hadn't of give her chakra back to her with the help of Samehada.
She cursed when she tripped on a stair but continued to run at a moderate pace. She couldn't tire herself out yet. Momentarily, she rest along the way of running and she even tested out her chakra control by stopping and seeing if she could walk up the walls or run at times. Hagami was gaining back her precise chakra control by the second and easily managed to scale the walls by the time she had ran a quarter of the way up.
Another crash shook the building and Hagami slowed her steps and assessed the ceiling. She hoped it wasn't going to cave in so she kept running when she caught her breath. Halfway up the building, she could feel her chakra race around sporadically, ready to be released when she needed it. It turns out that Kisame had not only given her, her own chakra but possible some of his too.
Finally, after sprinting and jogging, she managed to get to the ground level of the building. Her eyes became crimson upon looking around the ground floor. They scanned around meticulously for any signs of any shinobi and traps that could alert that she was in the area. Luckily, there was nothing and she darted up to the second level and then the third--which were quite easy compared to the long flight of stairs leading from the basement to the ground level.
But something shiny caught her sight on the fourth level. This was where the weapons were stored and Hagami eyed her tantō amongst them. Finding a two-bladed tantō was hard to come by so Hagami understood why they'd keep it. However, it was time for it to return to it's original wielder and she was a blur when she snatched it from the weapon wrack. Upon inspecting it, it was kept in rather good condition considering the blades already sharpened.
