It's funny how life works. Everything around you and inside you always does its best to make sure you never have it all.
There's always something missing, a piece of the puzzle, an answer.
I sigh to myself, putting my hands over my stomach like I've done at least a hundred times today. The paleness of my hands contrasts well with the dark blue shirt I'm wearing and the black pants.
The people rush back and forth around me and in front of me, all of them having something to do and nobody even sparing a glance towards the girl who's life has just been torn apart, again.
To be honest, I would probably be the happiest person on the planet, no matter my age, if only he was here with me.
He'd hold my hand as we'd look for baby stuff in a local store.
He'd put his palms on my belly and softly caress it, whispering to the little baby inside.
He'd drive to the store at 2 am because I'd have a sudden craving for melons or something.
He'd be there with me at birth and would be the first person to hold our child, smiling at it and letting it hold his huge index finger with its tiny finger.
We'd pick the name for the little bundle of joy together.
Wiping the single tear that escaped my eye, I stand up and decide to get mum because I've had enough of waiting. We are in the shopping mall because mum needed to grab some things to make lunch and it is close to the local gynecologist.
There's no doubt now that I'm pregnant; I went through the whole examination process and the doctor confirmed my previous doctors' assumptions.
I look around the mall and am about to enter the shop when a sight of dark caramel eyes and black hair stops me.
His eyes lock with mine, and recognition lights up in his eyes and a burning memory slams through me.
"You were planning to leave me and you didn't even tell me." Harry accuses me, his eyes glossy.
"How did you-" my voice breaks.
"Zayn." he says and all air is pushed out of me. "I had to find from him. From fucking Zayn."
Without spending another second, I turn away and begin to take fast steps away from him, deciding to wait on mother at the car or anyplace where there isn't the man who betrayed me.
True, he was right about Harry needing to know, but he should've let me tell him.
"Sophie! Wait!" he yells after me and I can hear him closer, so I quicken up my pace, when suddenly he's standing in front of me, stopping me by putting his hands on my shoulders. "Wait, Sophie, what are you doing here?"
"Let go of me." I say quietly, looking at my feet.
He doesn't let go.
"Why? Is something wrong? Sophie, answer me." he pushes on and I rip his hands off of me.
I look him straight into eyes. "You had no right to do what you did, Zayn. I was supposed to be the one to tell him."
He gulps, looking on his feet and doesn't say a thing, so I push past him and walk away from him, only to be stopped again.
"Look, I'm sorry, Sophie, I-I just, I don't know why I did it, but please forgive me. I didn't realize you'd be this hurt." he says and I roll my eyes.
"Don't bullshit me, Zayn. How couldn't you realize I'd be hurt? It's the most obvious thing ever." I reply, slowly having enough of him.
"Okay, you have a point, but you make mistakes too, don't you?" he asks with a lifted brow and I sigh in exaparation. I hate to admit it, but he's right.
"Yes, I do, but that still doesn't mean you did the right thing." I say and he bites his lip and looks down on his feet.
"I'm really sorry, Sophie." he apologizes again. "Where is Harry, anyway?" he asks and the question hits too close to home.
I wince on the inside as I say the answer:"Not here."
His eyebrows lift slightly in surprise. "No? Where is he, then?"
"In Europe." I answer and his brows lift even higher.
I shrug. "He had to leave."
"So... You two are done?" he asks and I gulp.
"Yes." I exhale.
I hate how his eyes slightly light up at my response. "Wow. That's..."he trails off. "Look, I'd say I'm sorry but honestly, I'm not." he shrugs and I fake a smile.
"Yeah, I get it." I do, but that still doesn't mean that I like it.
I begin to turn on my heels. "I gotta go, Zayn." I say, wanting to get away from him as soon as possible.
"Okay, but if you want we could go for a coffee or something when you're free." he asks with hopeful eyes.
"I don't know..."
"For old times' sake. We used to be friends before, remember?" he says and I nod.
"Yeah." I say and he smiles, showing off his white teeth.
"My treat. I'll call you up later okay?" he says, leaving me no possibility of declining him.
"Fine." I smile and finally turn around. "Bye, Zayn."
"Goodbye, Sophie." he waves and then he's outta my view, and I can't be more glad.
Why did I have to agree to meet him for a drink again?
It's so sad how time changes so many things.
Before I even arrive to the car, my phone rings.
I groan, thinking it's Zayn already, but when I take a glance towards Caller ID, I see it's Gemma.
As soon as I answer, she says:"You have to see this."
Love, Trish❤ sorry for the late update, had a busy week!
What do you think Gemma meant when she said:"You have to see this?"
I love all of you so much, thank you for reading my story again!
