The Big Date
A/N: Thank you guys for reading my book. It makes me happy to see I have readers and see the number of readers increase every time I post a new chapter. I really hope you guys are enjoying this book. It is going to be somewhere between 30 and 40 chapters long. Anyway this chapter is going to be really cute. Enjoy!!!
Six hours. Seventeen minutes. Forty-three seconds. That is how long it is intill the date tonight. It's Friday and instead of thinking about my usual boring weekend plans I can't stop thinking about my date tonight. Throughout the first four periods of school I received little notes with details about the date on them. In first period Jake placed the note on my desk before class.
Note 1: 7:00 p.m
The second note I found in the first page of my textbook in second period.
Note 2: Be prepared to lose a game or two.
I was confused on what that meant. I will just have to wait and see. I am sitting in the cafeteria now and see Jake approaching. Seeing him made my stomach knot up. He handed me another note.
Note 3: Last note. Last clue. Loud music
I looked up at him and I was completely stumped. "Tell me. Please.....???" I put on my puppy dog face. "Sorry princess. Even if I did tell you how would you know I am telling the truth." he said smirking. I was going to remind him we read 'The Three Ways To See if a Person is Telling a Lie' but then I tought I'm a normal girl today. I am going to pretend I am not a spy. I am going on a date and I am going to be normal. "Well you have a point. Are you absolutely sure you don't want to tell me?" I said really not knowing what to expect for this date. "Yes. I am absolutely sure." he said plainly as the rest of our friends walked to our lunch table.
"Hey guys. What's up?" Kaitie said excited. She was really happy for me to finally be going on my first date. "Oh, Nothing much, just making Lilly miserable because she doesn't know where we are going tonight." Jake stated and I looked at him with a hard glare. "She knows too?" I asked in disbelief. "Who do you think is going to be able to dress you appropriately for the occasion without telling you?" he said. The rest of lunch I tried to get answers out of everyone. No one would budge. The rest of the day went by in a blur and before I knew it, I was hanging out at Kaitie's house doing homework.
"Okay, its time for you to get ready!!!" Kaitie said almost bursting my eardrums. "Okay!" maybe the outfit will give me an idea of where Jake is taking me. Kaitie pulled out some white skinny jeans and a light blue and white striped tank top with a jean jacket. "I had this outfit planned out for three days. You are going to look amazing." she said and I changed. My hair was in frizzy tight curls like it always was ,so Kaitie flat ironed it. She decided to just put mascara and lip gloss on me because she claims I have 'flawless' skin. Lastly she pulled the door to her closet full of shoes open. She scammed them and picked out a cute pair of flats.
As Kaitie drove me to my house to wait for Jake to pick me up, I tried to see where I could wear this outfit. The possible answer was....... almost anywhere. I stepped out of the car. Before I closed the door Kaitie wished me good luck. I got inside my house and my mom was so happy to know I was going on a date. She was just overjoyed. Jeez, everyone around my is more excited than I even am and I'm pretty excited. "Is it that Jake guy who came on Sunday?" Josh asked curiously. "Yes. Please don't embarrass me again this time." I said trying to convince him. "Fine. Just know I will not let him off that easy." he said joking aroud, acting like a dad would. "Remember I am older than you. I can take care of myself." I said trying to make Josh not worry so much. "I know. I just want you to know I am here for you." he sounded more serious now. "I know." I said smiling. The doorbell rang and I ruffled up his hair before getting the door.
I opened the door and Jake was standing there. He pulled out a bouquet of flowers from behind his back. I told him that my favorite flowers were roses two weeks ago. He remembered (how cute!!!). "Thanks." I said a blush creeping onto my cheeks. "No problem, princess. Ready to go?" he looked great. He was wearing a dark blue shirt that showed his muscles. "Let me just put these in water first. Do you want to come in?" I said walking into the kitchen to find a vase and put some water in it."Sure." he said walking in and my mom immediately greeted him. "I'm Lilly's mom. You can call me Mrs. Williams." she said. She is very traditional with the whole name thing. "Nice to officially meet you Mrs. Williams. I'm Jake Waters." he held out his hand to shake hands but my mom pulled him into her embrace and whispered something in his ear. From the look on her face while saying it, it was probably a threat. "Hey Jake." Joshy was being nice like I had asked him to. "Hey Josh." Jake smiled and they bro hugged. "Ready?" he asked me. I couldn't wait to get out of the house. "Yep." we left and got in the car.
"Good thing I have a small family or we would be in there forever introducing people." I said laughing. "I don't mind. your family seems nice. It's not a long drive to where we are going so you will probably figure out where it is in the next two minutes or so." he said smirking at how badly I wanted to know where we were going.
A minute passed and I saw a sign for the Brentveiw County Fair. Just then all the hints clicked. "Your taking me to the fair!?!?!" I half screamed in excitment. I love the fair. I can't believe I forgot it was this week. He looked at me and smiled."Yep. Wait here."he said as he parked and got out of the car. He walked around and opened my door. I got out and he picked me up. Before I knew it he was piggy backing me all the way to the fair. We parked as close as we could but it was still pretty far. It wasn't weird because we are good friends and by the end of tonight I hope we will be more.
"Alright. The train has arrived at the station."he said as I got off his back. "Why thank you." I said pretending to do a little curtsey. He grabbed my hand and ran us all over the fair. Hopping on rides here and there and winning me stuffed animals. I had two of them and Jake said he would have gotten he more but he didn't want to make me carry to much. "No you just can't win."I teased him. "Fine you caught me. These games have to be rigged." he said laughing. "We have one more place to go before we leave." then he took my hand again and this time instead of running or fast walking, we just strolled. "What too tired to run?"I asked sarcastically. "No. I just don't want this night to end."I was definately blushing now.
We got to the farris wheel. How did I not know he was going to bring me here? "Ladies first." he said as we got in the cart. We just talked and giggled the whole time. He was so easy to talk to. We reached the top of the farris wheel and we were in silence. My stomach was doing freefalls right about now. All of a sudden Jake started gazing in my eyes. We got closer and closer. My stomach was full of butterflies. Our lips touched and a spark of electricity shot through my body. Our lips moved in perfect sync. We pulled away heads resting together and catching our breath. Then he pointed out to lights below us.
Will you be my girlfriend, Lilly?
I can't believe it. Yeah, I was hoping for this question to come up but I didn't think it actually would! He went through all this just for me. How could I say no. I nodded and the farris wheel started to move again. We kissed once more before we got to the bottom.
A/N: I really hope you liked this chapter! I tried to make the big first date really different from the rest of the stories.
*Finally Lilly and Jake are together. What do you think about it?
