Camilla's POV

"Mrs. Millstone gave us so much homework last night, ugh. Could I copy your notes at lunch?" I ask Ava. It's 6:45 am and I am so tired. My phone buzzes and I take it out of my pocket.

*1 new message*

I open it up and smile. It's from my boyfriend, Josh. 'Hey babe, where r u?'

I reply with, 'Walking 2 school, y?'

It buzzes again, saying 'Uh, theres something here u mite want 2 c this...'

Hmm, I wonder what it is...maybe he's surprising me for my birthday! 'Ya sure I'll b rite there' I say, and put my phone back in my pocket. "Guys, Josh says there's something he want me to see something at school. I'm hoping it's a birthday gift or something. I'm gonna run, I'll catch up with you later 'kay?" I say, and start running towards school.

I walk breathlessly in the parking lot and there's a big crowd surrounding the brick wall of the school. Must be something big then, if so many people are here! I push through the crowd to the center, and a bunch of people give me weird looks. I ignore them, and continue pushing my way through.

When I see that wall...words can't describe how I feel right now. My stomach sinks and I can feel my face drain of color. Someone has vandalized school property...under MY name. I only get a few seconds of shock before I hear the sirens. This can't be happening.

Two warm hands slip into mine and I turn around to see Ava and Connor by my side. Connor looks like he's ready for war, and Ava looks like she's seen a ghost. I try to spot Josh in the crowd, but there's too many people. I see someone else though.

Kimberly. I bet she's happy about all of this. In fact, she's smiling like she just won a prize. I never cared much about her, but she's always had a problem with me. I've grown to hate her over the years.

The cops pull up, and the crowd parts like the Red Sea for them to walk through. And of course, me being the idiot I am, I stand there, frozen. So now it's just me, Ava, Connor, a few policemen and oh ya, the whole freaking school.

"Who is Camilla?" the cops ask the crowd. Immediately, everyone points at me. I feel like I have a bright red target sign on my head. Why am I not running? I'm about to get expelled for something I didn't do and all I can do is stand there like an idiot.

"Hello, miss. May we ask you a few questions?" asks one of the police officers.

"Uh, um.. sure, I guess," I stutter. Smooth, Camilla.

"Were you the one who graffitied this wall?" he asks.

"No, sir," I mumble. I get a reassuring squeeze from Ava.

"Are there any people you suspect may have done this?" he questions.

"Er, not really. I just got here and this was just kind of...there" I say.

"Well, either way you will need to go to court. How old are you?" he asks.

"16, today is my birthday..." I say.

"We will call your parents in and understand that this is a very serious situation and is not to be taken lightly," he says, before he walks into the school while the other two walk back to the police car.

I flop on my bed and realize that as of today, my life is going down the drain. I'm going to become homeless and have no job and die of starvation. I'll be forever alone and miserable.

That's right. Josh dumped me. My boyfriend of two years dumped me. "I just don't think this is going to work out. I don't want to get a bad reputation for dating the girl that vandalized the school, you know?" he said. That prick.

He broke up with me right after the that incident with the police. Later, I walked into school, depressed from court. I was hoping that Ava or Connor would be there and cheer me up. But what did I see? Josh and Kimberly making out in the middle of the hall. Yep, it's been a great birthday.

Oh, and I also got expelled.
