"Perfect," Sophia grins at me. "That was EP-worthy."
"You really think so?" I grin.
"Clara, you of all people know that I don't give people bullshit to make them feel better about themselves," Sophia rolls her eyes.
"Thanks, Soph," I smile. "I'm kinda tired. Is that the last song for today?"
"Yep!" Sophia tells me. "We only have two songs left to record on the EP, and we're announcing the release date tomorrow at 4:00 pm sharp."
"Really?" I raise my eyebrows, surprised.
"Yep!" she confirms excitedly.
"Yay!" I squeal. "I can't wait! Okay. I think I'll go home now."
"Good idea. Get some rest, tweet a little bit about the EP..."
"You got it."
"Hey, love," I smile, kissing Clara's forehead.
"Hey, babe," she giggles.
"How was recording today?"
"It went really well," she says honestly. "I finished recording another song, and then there's only two songs left, and then tomorrow at 4:00, we're releasing the date for the album."
"Really? That's amazing, Clara! I'm so happy for you," I hug her tightly, lifting her up off the floor and spinning her around. I'm really so happy for her.
"Thanks, Harry. You have no idea how much that means to me," she tells me solemnly.
"Well you mean a lot to me," I tell her. She blushes and smiles bashfully.
"Not as much as you mean to me," she teases. "When are you guys planning on starting your next album?"
"We're taking a year off. We'll probably have concerts every now and then, of course, but...not a tour," I explain.
"Oh," she nods in understanding. "So you get a vacation?"
"Yep," I smile at her. "Actually, I was hoping you would like to come with me to L.A. I know you don't miss it, but I have a house there in Beverly Hills and I think you would really like it. It's up to you, of course, but I would really love for you to come."
"I'll have to think about that..." Clara's smile disappears. "I have so much going on right now, and I'm not exactly in a rush to get back there..."
"I get it," I promise her. "Just let me know. There's no pressure," I say, even though I really, really want her to come with me. I understand, of course, but...I really want to spend time with her: alone. I just feel like every time we're together, we're surrounded by everyone else in our lives, and it would be really nice to get away from that for a while and have a vacation just the two of us. It's up to her, though. Completely.
Harry took me completely by surprise with his request. I want to come. I really do. But I just...I don't think I'm ready to go back yet. There are too many memories there. Memories that are safer kept hidden. I know too many people there. There's too much to that place that traps me, that suffocates me. I can't deal with that. I'll go crazy. I follow Harry outside to the car.
