As she slowly chewed and swallowed the nasty jello, she turned and gave her Mom a smile, "It's going to be okay." Paris said as Carole nodded her head as Paris, slowly but surely, finished the food on her tray.
"I'm sorry but visiting hours are over." The nurse at the desk said to Sam and he let out a groan. "Can I please just go back there, for five minutes, please?" He pleaded as the nurse looked down to see a guitar case in his hand and she raised an eyebrow at him. "Fine but if anyone asks, you snuck back there by yourself." The nurse said as Sam nodded his head in agreement and thanked the woman as he made his way towards Paris' room.
As he slowly opened the door to her room, he saw her peacefully sleeping and he slowly entered the dark room and sat down on the chairs and pulled out his guitar and slowly started to strum it. Paris heard the noise but she still acted asleep. "I know you're asleep but I wrote you a song and maybe one day I'll sing it to you when you're awake." She heard the voice whisper and she felt her heart drop as she heard Sam's voice.
"Loving and fighting, accusing, denying, I can't imagine a world with you gone. The joy and the chaos, the demons we're made of, I'd be so lost if you left me here alone. You locked yourself in the bathroom, lying on the floor when I break through, I pull you in to feel your heartbeat, can you hear me screaming please don't leave me." He sung as he was brought back to that night.
He remembered as he backed away from them in a panic as Carole stood at the door sobbing as she watched her daughters lifeless body lay on the ground as Burt stood in the living room as he talked on the phone with 911. Kurt and Finn also didn't know what to do as they stood beside Carole not moving.
Seconds passed as Sam quickly pushed through the three and kneeled down beside Paris as tears fell down his eyes and he quickly put two fingers on her wrist to see if she had a pulse and happy tears fell out of his eyes as he felt a slow heartbeat and he leaned down and started to talk to her, hoping she would hear him and wake up.
"Hold on I still want you, come back I still need you. Let me take your hand, I'll make it right, swear to love you all my life, hold on I still need you. Long endless highway, you're silent beside me, driving a nightmare I can't escape from. Helplessly praying, the light isn't fading, hiding the shock and the chills in my bones." He sung as Paris wiped the tears that had fallen down her face without trying to make too much movement and Sam continued to sing.
"They took you away on a table, I pace back and forth as you lay still. They pull you in to feel your heartbeat, can you hear me screaming please don't leave me. Hold on I still want you, come back I still need you. Let me take your hand, I'll make it right, I swear to love you all my life, hold on I still need you."
Sam remembered as the ambulance arrived and they pushed Sam away from Paris as they strapped her down to a gurney and they rolled her to the ambulance and put her in the back as they started to check her to make sure she was going to be okay. He watched as they drove away with Paris in the back and tears fell down his face as he watched them disappear.
"I don't wanna let go, I know I'm not that strong. I just wanna hear you, saying baby let's go home, lets go home. Yeah, I just wanna take you home, take you home. Hold on I still want you, come back I still need you." He finished off as Paris heard him zip his guitar case back up and she slowly turned towards him as she too, was wiping away her tears.
"Sam?" She whispered as he looked up at her shocked, "That was beautiful." She whispered as she moved over on the bed so he would have some room. She watched as he took off his shoes and laid down beside Paris, wrapping his arms around her. "I love you." Paris whispered as she slowly closed her eyes and fell back asleep.
