lily
ˈlɪli
/noun
noun: lily; plural noun: lilies

1. a bulbous plant with large trumpet-shaped, typically fragrant, flowers on a tall, slender stem.

2. short for water lily. used in names of other plants with flowers or leaves similar to those of the lily, e.g. arum lily.

lilies were her favourite flowers.

whenever he asked for her favourite flowers she would respond casually, "lilies." she never took a second thought about flowers.

he never really understood what was so special about the lilies.

sitting down in his seat, he reminisced  his happy memories with her.

"i'm so bored!" the female whined.

"baka, you're the one who dragged me here."

"but you're not helping me!" you replied.

sitting on a hill slope next to karma, at the bottom was a lake full of life. it was favourite place to visit.

"karma, do you believe in reincarnation?"

"why?"

"no reason, just wondering."

you laid down on the grass, rolling around and giggling.

"here, i've finished making your flower crown." the male stood up, giving a hand to her.

placing the daisy flower crown on her head. she giggled in response at his effort, it was true it wasn't beautiful.

although, he was terrible with these types of stuff. he didn't mind if it was for her.

"thank you bakarma."

"oi!"

the beautiful female who wore the daisy crown was not here the next year.

he remembered the time when he confessed to her. he was always stuttering around her. she was perfect and he was not. he was brave she was not.

they worked well together; opposites attract.

it was a sunny morning and he was walking thrkugh the lane of cherry blossoms. the park was full of couples as it was the cherry blossom season.

walking around as he admired the scenary.

"such a young man on his own. don't you have anybody else to see the cherry blossoms with?"

karma turned around and it was an old man at a stand, selling yakisoba.

"i-i do."

"young man, i know there's somebody that holds your heart. i've seen you here often. when you have the courage to confess her, take her here next time."

"i-i will!"

later that day, karma confessed to her. she was so happy and accepted happily.

unfortunately not all things worked out well, at least the way you wanted it to. everything went well but he couldn't bring her to see the cherry blossoms, for she wasn't with him the next spring.

karma closed the dictionary and placed the book on the shelf, crying as he remembered his past. if only he could turn back time and realise his mistakes.

walking away, a piece of paper slipped out from the dictionary. whatever was happening in the future, karma had to embrace it. after all he never fulfilled his promise. closing the door he left the room.

the piece of paper that laid on the ground was still, with creases on it.
