Chapter Two

Skylar's POV

"Joe?"

"Skylar." He hugged me.

"What are you doing here?"

"Wow. I thought you would have been more excited to see me."

"Joe. You broke my heart."

"How?"

"You said you were coming home with me and you didn't even show up to the airport."

"Well, you broke my heart, too."

"Joe. We only knew each other for two weeks. I'm sorry if I wasn't ready to be engaged after two weeks."

"It happened to other people before! And I loved you Sky. If you loved me then you would've said yes."

"I did love you Joe but-"

"Did? And but what?"

"Look, Joe. I loved you more than anything else in the world. I just don't see why you would propose when we only knew each other for two weeks."

Joe frowned. "But-"

"Let's just drop it okay? I really don't want stress in my life right now." Joe sighed and sat down on the couch.

"So, what's been going on?" Joe asked.

"Nothing. I have half a million subscribers."

"That's great! Maybe we could film a congratulation video?"

"That's nice and all Joe but, I already filmed one with Abby."

"Well, can we just film a video?"

"Don't you have to go back to England?" I said in an unintentional angry tone.

"Tomorrow. I just wanted to see you."

"Yeah, after nine months."

"Skylar. I'm sorry..."

"It's alright." I sighed. "Do you want anything to drink, Joe?"

"Some water would be fine."

I walked into the kitchen to get a glass of water. When I came back out, the surprise of a lifetime was right in front of me.

"Surprise!" Connor, Caspar, and Alfie yelled at the same time.

"Alfie!" I yelled, giving Alfie a big hug. I'm not picking favorites, but Alfie was the most person I wanted to see.

"Hey little cousin." He said.

"Connor! Caspar!" I yelled, giving them both hugs as well.

"Hey girl! How have you been? I haven't seen you since VidCon last year." Connor asked.

"I've been great! What about you?"

"Good."

I walked up to Caspar. "Hi Cas."

"Hey Sky..."

"We've really missed you!" Alfie yelled.

"I missed you guys, too." I said.

"Can I ask you a question?" Joe asked.

"You just did." I joked and Joe laughed.

"No, but seriousness. Do you want to come back to England with me, Caspar, Connor, Connor's girlfriend, and Alfie?"

My mouth dropped open. What should I say?

"I can't just leave Luke and Jen like this. Especially when they have Kimberly?"

"Kimberly?" Alfie asked.

"Yeah, my new niece. But anyways, why would you want me to go back?"

"Because we love and miss you!" Caspar said.

"Please, Skylar."

"But-"

"Hey, Sky. Have you seen my-" Luke walked down the stairs. "Hey. Um, Sky. What is Connor doing here?"

"They want me to go back to England with them."

"Oh. To live over there?"

"No of course not!"

"Well, go ahead! Dad can help us with Kim and you haven't been over there in nine months."

Should I accept? I really wanted to see Zoe, Jim, Finn, and Tanya but something is keeping me from going.

"I- I don't know..." I said.

"Come on, Sky." Connor said, with puppy dog eyes and his bottom lip popped out.

I laughed and huffed. "Alright."

Alfie, Connor, and Joe pumped their fists in the air and screamed.

"But, you have to give me time to pack. I'm a girl, you know. And I have my equipment."

"Okay. I'll can wait all night for you." Joe said. I giggled and ran up the stairs and into my room.

Joe's POV

"Connor, when are you going to tell her?" Caspar asked.

"Not now. I really don't want to put this all onto her. When she finds out that she was adopted and I'm her brother she isn't going to believe it. She thinks she's Australian."

"But the best thing to do is tell her. I'll tell her that I'm not her cousin if you tell her that you're her brother."

"Now just isn't a good time. Maybe when she comes to you and Zoe's wedding?"

"I guess."

A lot of stuff has been happening since Skylar left nine months ago.
Zoe and Alfie? Well, they got engaged.
Connor? Yep, he's Skylar's REAL brother. Skylar is adopted.
I really missed Sky and just because Skylar said no to my proposal doesn't mean I have to cry and not talk to her for nine months.

"Joe. You seem quiet today." Alfie said, snapping me out of my thoughts. I sighed.

"Well, I just really missed Sky."

"That's not an excuse." Connor laughed.

Luke walked in. "Hey guys."

"Hi Luke." Connor said.

"Did you guys tell her?" asks Luke.

"No. Not yet." Alfie said.

"Well, don't yet. Please wait until you all are in England. I don't want her to get mad at me or Jen or Dad."

"Okay. We already discussed that we were going to tell her at Zoe and Alfie's wedding. So that way she'll be focused on Zoe and Alfie and not that she's adopted."

"Who's adopted?" Skylar's voice rang through the living room.

"Um..." Luke tried to make up an excuse.

"Zoe. Zoe's adopted." My eyes widen to what I just said.

"W-What? I have to call her!" Skylar grabbed her phone and dialed Zoe's number but I stopped her.

"You can't." I said, holding her hand to make her stop.

"Why not?" She looked me in the eye.

"Because, she...she had her baby a week early and she's in the hospital and I'm sure as hell she doesn't have her phone." Skylar out her phone in her pocket. "Oh." She said.

"I'm going to go finish packing." She said, walking up the stairs.

"That was a close one." I said and Alfie hit the back of my head.

"What the hell was that! Now Skylar is going to think that Zoe's adopted."

I sighed. We just lied to her. And she was going to find out about the truth. Connor and I weren't going to let that happen.
