I don't know when I fell asleep. A sudden rattle on the door woke me up. I felt too lazy to go and open the door.

"Yes?"

"Lunch time", mom replied from the other side.

"Okay."

Dad must have returned from his Sunday fishing by now. Gotta face him again. I heaved a sigh. Just when I was about to get up, he was there again.

"Hi", Niall said.

"Hi"

"How are you?"

"I'm good".

The smile on his, it was priceless. It made me wonder if real Niall too will smile this way he sees me.

"Yes I will", he replied.

"W-what?" I stuttered. "How did you know?"

He brought his face closer to mine, just an inch or two away. "I can read your mind", he smirked, and then disappeared.

His face seemed too real to be hallucinatory. It took me some more minutes to recover; for my mind to function properly and my breathing to get more normal. I quickly splashed a little water on my face and ran downstairs.

Everyone was waiting for me. Oh crap! Even George was there. I got late. I'm in trouble, dad's gonna kill me now.

"Where were you?" Dad's tone scared me.

"I-in my r-room", I managed to stutter out.

"What were you doing? Why did it take you so long?"

"Must be listening to crap music again", George poked in, a sports and metal-rock lover.

Why did you even have to say that? Dad is already so crossed with me. You satan.....I hate you.

"What were you doing?" Dad repeated, totally irritated.

"I....."

"You can interrogate her later, first have your lunch. Here's your food", mom interrupted, saving me.

Mom.

MOM.

I managed to hide my tears and sat on my chair. The whole lunch time was family time - everyone talking about what happened the whole day and stuff - except me. I never talked, and no one ever cared to ask me to join in. George kept talking the whole time about......well, about something, don't know what; didn't bother to listen, am I part of it? And dad kept laughing, even though it was clear he didn't understand a thing. Ha! Mom. She kept smiling at him at intervals, but I could see her concern for me.

My food got over, so I got up.

"What happened?"

Not again.

"I'm done, so I'm going up to my room."

"Is this what you do?"

Okay....then what do we do? We just sit here until dinner time waiting for dinner, eh? Why don't you declare yourself the king and rule on my life?

"You go to your room", mom said.

George chuckled. Ugh! You idiot, I'll see you one day.
