There's a little voice in the back of your head, telling you to throw the paper away, so you do.
A couple of days go by and the job search continues. It never gets any easier;
taking the same route every day;
asking the same questions every day;
getting the same answers everyday.
'I'm sorry, there are no positions available'
You sigh, you just need one opportunity...
You nearly jump out of your skin when you hear someone calling your name. You've always been super easy to fright. It's just that, it's always been just you so you tend to live in your head most of the time. Daydreaming helps the time past by.
But-
Who on earth could be calling you? You don't know many people here, maybe like two. You've always been incredibly shy. There it goes again, your name.
You look around and notice that it's coming from across the street. It's that old lady again, the one who works at the creepy old pawn shop. Once you make eye contact she quickly signals for you to come over.
You don't want to, you have a feeling that she's going to ask you about that application and you really don't want her too.
"Come over here for a sec, darling!"
You sigh internally as you make your way over. You look up and notice that the sky is getting darker. It's only a little after 4 which leads you to believe that perhaps it's about to rain. Of course you didn't bring an umbrella. You should really be getting home soon, but the old lady wants you and you don't want to be rude. When you're within ear shot of her, you quietly mumble a hello to her.
"Darling, I'm really happy to have seen you today, there's someone here that I'd like you to meet"
'No' You think to yourself as she grabs your hand and begins to lead you into the pawn shop. You regret walking over here to talk to her. "I really have to go, I think it's about to rain and -"
"It'll only be a second, I promise"
You suppress a sigh and hope that this doesn't take long. You're led into the back of the pawn shop, into what appears to be a small apartment. 'The old lady lives here?' You question your self. You look around as she leads you down a small hallway and a shiver runs down your spine. It's creepy here, the decor matching the gloomy atmosphere. This place is crowded with old books, vials of suspicious liquids, large pots that you've seen in scary movies. You desperately want to leave. You jump when you hear a loud noise behind you.
"It's okay, it's just thunder" The old lady tells you. "I guess you were right about the rain darling, right through there" She instructs. She points into a room signalling for you to enter it. You don't want to do this, you really don't. But you do... You've never been the type to stick up for yourself and say no.
You walk inside and the first thing you notice is a woman with dark black hair. She turns around and when she looks at you it's like you're enchanted. It's like her piercing blue eyes look right into your very soul. She stands from her seat and makes her way towards you. For some reason your legs won't move. You want to run away, but you can't. You're receiving way too much attention and you dislike it. She studies you like she's going to be tested later. She even goes as far as too walk around you. You feel a hand in your hair and that's when you snap out of it, moving away from her touch. She doesn't apologize, she looks behind you both to the old lady and says
