Nathan's P. O. V.

We were all in the family room sitting on the couch and my mom was very much intended on embarrassing me as much as she can before she leaves tonight. And can I just say she is succeeding.

When there was a sudden knock at the door.
"That's weird wasn't expecting anyone else." I say standing up and my mom's eyes widen but I just passed it off as nothing. I stood up from the couch making my way to the front door.

Without thinking of looking through the peephole I open the door.
I was met with a man who seemed to be in his late 40s or early 50s with salt and pepper colored hair and somewhat my height with a black suit on.

I was ready to ask who he was but he beat me to it.

"Hello, my son." The man smiles. Revealing a deep accent. However, I wasn't smiling. I was completely confused. My son?

"Can I help you?" I question. What the hell does he mean by my son? I am not his son. I don't maybe I'm just exaggerating. I am probably just blowing things out of proportion.

"You don't recognize your own father? Nathan." He furrows answering my next question before I can even ask it.

"Mom!" I shout not taking my eyes off of the man.
A few seconds later my mom was behind me.
"What is it Nathan?" She ask but I could hear it in her voice that she knew what it was. That she knew who was at the door.

Rolling my eyes I open the door wider. Allowing her see who it is. Her eyes only widen at what she sees.
Looking at the man than right back at her and I just stare at her. Waiting for her to say something but she didn't she just started at me with sad eyes.

Annoyed that I still haven't gotten an answer from her.
"Mom, who is this? And why is he saying that I am his son?" I bluntly ask.
Still no answer.
"Mom? I asked you a question."

"He is.. He is your father." She hesitates but when I hear what come out of her mouth. I couldn't speak I just stood their dumbfounded. Shocked.

"Emanuel, what are you doing here? I thought I told you to never come back here?"she says whispering the end as if I wouldn't hear her even though I am literally standing right next to her.
"Its nice to see you again too, Naomi." He say completely avoiding her question.

"Well Nathan aren't you going to give your old man the hug he deserves?" the man says and once again his deep accent slips out. alright that's it I refuse to acknowledge that he may be my father.

"Nope, I know who my father is and you are certainly not him. My father is dead."

"No he's not." My mom says making me look directly at her.
"What the hell is going on? What do you mean he is not dead?" I getting a little frustrated now.

"Nathan, language! your father is not dead. This is your father. I'm sorry I didn't tell you I know I lied but I was hoping that this day would never come. I was trying to protect you. This man.... is your father but this man is not your brother and your sister's father. Their father also left me." My mom explains. But I just couldn't help the shocked expression that was on my face.

I was completely speechless. So basically my whole life I've been lied to.
I already knew the look on my face. I was looking at her like she was crazy.

"So, you knew? You knew my father was alive and apparently well this whole time? Does Dawson and Emily know too? You told me that dad passed away before I was born. And what you were doing it to protect me? Now I don't even know what to believe." I say gesturing towards the Armani suit that he has on.

She stared at me in silence before speaking up after several seconds.

"I'm, sorry Nathan.. Yes, I was protecting you. I didn't want you to get hurt. So it was better to just say you had the same father as Emilia and Dawson. Nathan this man left me when he found out that I was carrying you. And Emilia and Dawson father left because of this. I know I lied but it was for your own goo-"
This night went from being a great night to a night of lies in a matter of seconds.

"Please, you were just doing it to protect yourself mom."

"Its pretty chilly out here mind if I come in?" Emanuel as my mom had called him chimed in. Causing me to bring my attention back to him.

"No, you can not." My Mom speaks before I could. Trying to speak for me. But quite frankly I don't even know who she is. This has got me questioning everything.

I was so angry, annoyed and confused that I wanted to do the complete opposite of everything she says. A part of me understood but the other was just too hung up on the fact that she lied to me.

Rolling my eyes I open the door wider gesturing for him to come in.

"Thank you" he says walking in and I shut the door behind him.
"Nice place you got here."

"Thanks" I simply say not in the mood for small talk.

"Why are you here?" I ask trying to quickly get to the point.
He sighed before looking back up at me than at my mom.

"Well, the reason why I am is because... How do I say this? Um.. Well I just wanted to spend time with my son and get to know him better before I go. Because I am d-" He was explaining himself slowly getting to his point before sudden cries come from the living room instantly catches my attention.

I sighed in relief feeling the tension in the room lowering. Finally having an excuse to leave the room. I walk into the living room. Seeing Lahlani with both of the twins. Trying to get them to stop crying. But it seemed to have not been working. With Emily offering her hand but I interjected and told her it was fine as I walked over and scooped one of the twins out her arms finding it to be Alonzo. And like magic he instantly stopped his wailing.

And the room fell quite the only thing to be heard was Lahli cooing at Mehlani.
Feeling all thoughts anger and confusion leave me now looking down at my sons face.

"Uh, Nathan? Who is this?" Lahli says snapping me out of my daze. I look up at her to see her looking behind me causing me to turn around seeing my mom walking into the room with my supposed father following close on her trails.
