Mitch {Seventeen}

     When I got to the field at seven I see all my girls sitting next to each other, talking and laughing. I love it when I see that!

     "Time to warm-up ladies!" I tell them. They don't answer and stand up with bags on backs and phones in hands.

     After warm-ups we all went into the third base dugout and started talking about the game and where they were gonna play.

     "Brooklyn your on the mound, Elle behind the plate, Katie first, Morgan second, Maria third, Cadence short, Sophie right, Paige center, Kenzi left, and Maddy you're sitting for right now." I tell the girls. The umpires call for coaches and captains.

     "Maria and Cadence let's go." I say to the whole dugout. The two of them stop talking and walk toward me. "Follow me," I tell them as they start following me. We did the coin flip and we're home team. Maria, Cadence, and I walk back into the dugout. They do their pre-game cheer and then they jog out onto the field.

     I stood up and yelled with excitement, for the first time in a while, "way to be there, Maria!" I yelled as Maria saved two runs from scoring.

     Bases were loaded and there was a line drive hit in between Maria and Cadence. Cadence had no shot at it no matter what. Maria full extension dove, made the catch, and tagged third base, to get the last two outs of the game. We ended up winning 12-10. So if Maria didn't make that catch the game would've been tied at 12. The team swarmed and jumped on Maria, as if they just won the World Series. The fans for our team and even the other team were cheering for her, it was that good. Maria walks over to talk to me, like she does after every game, with a smile from ear to ear.

     "So, Mitch how'd I do?" Maria asked me. I didn't answer her and wrapped my arms around her. I squeezed her for five seconds and said: "MAGNIFICENT!" She didn't lose that smile until the next practice, when I yelled at her.

     Anyway, after the second game, because of Maria she comes over to talk to me.

     "So, Mitch how'd I-" Maria started, but I cut her off. I pulled her into a hug resting my chin on her head. I answer saying:

     "I love you, Maria! You are my best player, easily."

  What was the best phase in your life?

Probably when I was obsessed with R5. I got to meet them and it was AMAZING! I still like them to this day, but not as much as I did when I was in fifth grade.
