Chapter 5: Loyal beast

P.O.V. Raven

I was walking behind [Name] through the forest. I had my hand on the handle of my sword ready to attack any creature that tried to harm us first. "So where is this cave you were talking about?" I asked looking at him.

"It shouldn't be that much further," he said as he continued to walk towards what looked like a cliff. Seems like we are getting closer. Once he reached the cliff he began to walk along the side of it trying to locate the entrance of the cave.

We walked for a few minutes until we reached a large opening with several webs along the cave. I could see them on the walls, on the roof of the cave and I could even some webs on the floor.

He then took a deep breath placed his fingers in his mouth and let out a loud whistle. When he did I heard some noise within the cave I then heard some footsteps slowly approaching us until I saw a Arachno that looked much larger the usual.

P.O.V. [Name]

I smiled seeing the large Arachno in front of me. It had been a while since I last been here. I was forced to stop coming after some bandits started camping in the area. I then saw that the creature in front of me was hissing I then heard the sound of a blade being drawn and looked to my side to see Raven with her sword drawn.

I then started to panic seeing this, I had actually forgotten that she was with me and she doesn't know. How could she. Before she could move and start attacking I moved to the side grabbed her sword and threw it to the side placing myself between the two in the process.

The Arachno then started to push forward and I placed my hands on it's head trying to keep it away from Raven. I knew that if it really wanted to it could have easily overpowered me and attacked her. Raven looked like she was about to move and grab her sword glaring at me the entire time.

"Don't move!" I said trying to keep her from her sword. "Don't worry you just scared her was all," I said looking at her. She looked at me with both surprise and anger and I gently moved away from the Arachno being sure to keep myself between the two the entire time.

"Just leave the weapon down and we should be fine. I don't want you two to fight because regardless of who the winner is I'd lose a friend," I said looking at her. She once again glared at me clearly not excited about leaving her weapon on the ground.

"Friend?" She asked looking at me.

"Yeah Raven this is Lilac, and Lilac this is Raven," he said looking at us.

"You have a pet Arachno?" She asked looking at me.

"I'm not sure if you can call her a pet because she stays in this cave most of the time. But in a certain sense yeah I got a pet Arachno," I said trying to explain this unique situation.

"How do you know you can trust her?" Raven asked still trying to be cautious.

"Well Lilac has saved my life multiple times so I'm inclined to believe that she doesn't want to kill me," I said looking at Raven. When I said this Lilac hissed at Raven and I looked at her. "Well that's not nice," I said looking at Lilac.

"You can understand her?" Raven asked looking at me.

"Yeah, unlike Deathstalkers Arachno's have different types of venom they can use at any given time. One happens to be a venom that allows you to understand what that Arachno is saying," I said looking at Raven.

"What are some of the other venoms?" Raven asked looking at me. When she asked this Lilac hissed and I looked at Raven.

"Lilac doesn't want me to tell you that," I said looking at her. Raven sighed hearing this and looked at me.

"Can I at least know why you call her Lilac?" Raven asked looking at me. I smiled hearing this and turned to look at Lilac.

"Turn around," I said looking at her. When I said this Lilac turned around and leaned back to show her back. When she did Raven could see the birthmark that Lilac had that was purple and in the shape of a flower. "That's why I call her Lilac," I said looking at Raven.

"Well do whatever is you need to do and let's go," Raven said as she walked over to pick up her sword and walked away from the cave slightly. When she did I turned and looked to look at Lilac.

She hissed when I did and I felt a little nervous. "Yeah sorry some stuff happened and I haven't been able to visit as often as before," I said looking at her. When I said this she hissed again. "She's someone I met a while ago and part of the reason I can't come to visit," I said looking at her.

She hissed again and leaned forward rubbing her head against my stomach. "I've missed you too," I said petting her head. Lilac then hissed and I sighed. "I will if I can," after a few moments passed Lilac backed up and once again hissed.

I blushed when she did and looked at her. "N-No! She's just a friend I swear!" I said embarrassed by what she asked. When I did Lilac and once hissed and I felt my face heat up even more. "My hormones are just fine!" I said looking at her.

Lilac then started to cackle making my face heat up even more. After she settled down she looked at me and once again hissed. "Oh right, well I came here hoping to get some silk. Remember those ore I told you about?" I asked looking at Lilac and received a hiss in return.

"Well I think I can get another one," I said looking at her. When I said this she turned around and some silk started to come out. "I still feel weird about this," I said as I began to make her silk into a makeshift bag. After I was done I stood up and hugged Lilac. She hissed when I did and I sighed. "I'm going to miss you too," I said as I looked at her.

I was about to walk out of the cave but before I could Lilac hissed twice. My eyes widen when she asked this and I looked at her. "You can if you want, and to be honest we probably could use your help," I said looking at her.

She hissed when I said this and I smiled. "Yeah, it'll be fun with you around," I said I turned around. I was about to walk but then felt myself being lifting off the ground and saw that Lilac was carrying me.

I smiled when she did and turned to climb higher onto her back so that she could carry me like before. When I reached the highest part of her body she hissed and I nodded. "Yeah I'm ready," I said as she began to walk out of the cave.

When she did Raven looked at me. She seems a little surprised but not as much as I expected her to be. "Lilac wanted to come with us," I said looking at her. She sighed seeing this and was about to climb Lilac until she hissed. "Lilac doesn't want you on her," I said looking at her.

Raven mumbled when I said this and stopped. Lilac then hissed and I looked down at her. "We're going to the coast," I said looking at her. When I said this Lilac turned around and began to walk through the forest.
