Jessica sensed her hesitation and she turned to her.
"Sam, you ok?" She asked with concern.
Samantha jerked her gaze away from the car and looked at her friend, whose eyes were filled with worry and pity. "I'm fine"
"I'm getting a ride home, do you wanna come with me?" Jessica asked.
Samantha's gaze returned back to the car, the windows now rolled up, concealing the person inside. She answered, "no it's alright. I'll be fine"
Her friend left shortly after promising her to call and she gingerly took steps towards the car, as if it was inviting her over.
She stopped at the window she had seen the man at and tapped on the glass. It rolled down for her.
"What are you doing here?"
"Hello to you too Samantha" Lance Colen said.
"What.....are you doing here?" She asked again, not detoured by his ever friendly demeanor.
"I heard through a grapevine about your mother"
"I'm a friend of someone at the local police station" he clarified.
She furrowed her brows at him. "So....what are you doing here?"
