People surrounded the boardwalk and I managed to squeeze through them. There was an ice cream shop and tons of rides. I wasn't going to ride anything by myself. I stared up at the roller coaster that was lit up. But then something grabbed my attention. Motorcycles. I turned to the sound of them and saw 4 guys step off of them. They had to be a little bit older than me. As they walked down the boardwalk, people instantly got out of their way. As they passed me I studied their features. The leader had blonde hair, no it was white. He smirked at girls who stared at them as he walked by. The guy behind him had long dark hair and he looked me up and down before adverting his eyes back to wherever they were going. A guy with long blonde hair followed behind the dark haired guy. He looked like a rock and roll guy, someone who'd totally be into music. Then the last one. He had long blonde curly hair. He smirked at a girl as he walked by and then he made eye contact with me. He smiled and winked. I quickly blushed and he followed the three guys in front of him. "Who are they?" I said to myself. "That's David and his gang." Someone said next to me. I turned to look and saw a boy around my age. "Oh." I replied. "What's your name?" He asked me. I said "I'm Beatrice. I just moved here." "Really? Me too. Where'd you move from?" He said. I sighed and said "Florida." "Wow that's far. I'm Sam." He said as he stuck his hand out. I shook it and smiled. "So how long have you been here?" I asked. Sam shrugged and said "a couple of weeks. So are you looking for something to do?" I nodded and said "yeah. I've been at the beach all day." "You like comics? I was heading to the comic book shop." Sam said. I said "yeah. I'll come with you." Sam smiled and began to lead the way. I followed him and it was a little further down from where we were standing. Sam walked in and headed over to the shelf of his choice. Music played in the shop and I looked at all the different comics.

I felt eyes on me and looked up. A boy with a bandanna around his head eyed me up and down.
I felt another pair of eyes on me and looked across the shop. Another boy with dog tags around his neck, eyed me up and down. I cleared my throat and walked closer to Sam.
"Hey did you find anything?" He asked me. I nudged him and motioned to the bandanna boy. Sam looked at the two of them and said "yeah they do that to everyone." I was mentally hitting him on the arm. I nudged him again and he said "it's ok. Guys come and introduce yourselves." Both boys came from opposite directions so they were on either side of me. Sam had stepped back at this point. I looked to Sam and he flipped through the comic book he was holding. "Hi guys." I said as I didn't look at either one of them. They both didn't say anything and Sam said "guys. It's getting really creepy." Neither one of them said anything. I huffed and said "look if you creeps aren't going to say anything could you give me some space?" Sam looked up and nudged the boy with the bandanna. The boy cleared his throat and said "I'm Edgar." "He speaks." I said sarcastically. He rolled his eyes and said "that's my brother Alan." I turned to the boy with the dog tags around his neck and he nodded at me. "Hi." I said. Sam said "gosh I thought I was going to have to introduce you guys again. You guys need to speak more often." "Ok can you guys back away?" I asked them. They both moved away from me at the same time and I said "thanks." "Where'd you move from?" Edgar asked me. "Is it that obvious?" I said. Alan nodded and I said "Florida." Edgar picked up a comic and said "hey. Read this." I examined the cover and it was a vampire comic.
"A horror comic? Will I like it?" I asked. Edgar handed it to me and said "you'll like this one. It might save your life." I chuckled nervously and Sam said "don't freak her out guys." Alan flipped through a comic and said "take it, beach girl." I huffed and said "why should I? Comic boy." His head snapped up into my direction and he stepped towards me, setting the book on the shelf. Sam looked up from his comic and smirked. "What'd you say?" Alan asked as he stared me down.
"You heard me." I replied. Alan tensed up and Sam said "calm down. It's fine." I held the comic in my hands and walked away from the tense boy. I heard running footsteps and Sam said "wait up! Where're you going?" "Home." I replied. Sam said "they gave me the same comic." "They did?" I asked. Sam nodded and said "yeah. Just read it and everything will be explained. I don't like horror comics and that one is ok. Well it just explains things." "Explains what?" I asked. Sam sighed and said "you gotta read it first. Where do you live? I can walk you home?" I began walking away and Sam was hot on my trail. "I'm gonna walk you home. It's not safe." He said. "Why? Because this place is the murder capital of the world?" I asked sarcastically. Sam nodded and said "yes. It is. Just read the comic." "The whole thing?" I asked him. Sam said "it's not that bad. Don't mind Alan and Edgar. They were like that with me. They're a lot nicer once you get to know them. Well kinda." "Kinda?" I said. "Edgar is always like that. Alan is silent. Most of the time." He replied. I nodded and the rest of the walk home was silent. "Wow you're my neighbor." Sam said. I chuckled and said "that's a coincidence." "How so?" Sam asked. "Cause we met at the boardwalk and we find out were neighbors." I replied. Sam shrugged and I said "is this comic scary?" Sam rolled his eyes and said "just read it!" He ran towards his house, yelling someone's name. I shook my head and walked into mine.
