Vic and I get into the car and Vic drives off. I'm really excited to see Junior after his first day. I want to hear all about it. It seems to have gone well seeing as he's hanging out with some friends. I'm still worried though. I hope people were nice to him.
"You're worrying again." Vic points out and I roll my eyes amused.
"I hate that you know me so well." I laugh.
He smiles and takes my hand.
"What's bothering you?" he asks compassionately.
I sigh and squeeze his hand gently.
"Just worried about Junior, as always." I breathe.
"He's fine, Kell. Why are you so concerned about him all the time?" Vic asks confused and worried.
"I guess he just reminds me of myself when I was younger." I frown.
Vic smiles and runs his thumb over my knuckles.
"That is why we named him Kellin." he chuckles.
"I just don't want him to turn out like me." I whisper.
"Hey, if he turns out like you, I'll be the proudest Papa ever." he says.
"You know what I mean." I sigh.
"Kellin, he's fine. He's not suicidal, self conscious or depressed in anyway. Our son is okay. You need to stop worrying." Vic exclaims.
"I'm just scared, Viccy." I whisper.
"I know, sweetheart. I am too. I'm scared that Lisa is going to break her leg playing soccer and I'm scared that some girl is going to break Chrissy's heart and I'm scared that Ella and Junior will never admit their feelings for each other. Being scared is normal but you need to let that fear go. It's just going to make you paranoid. We've got to let our kids live their lives. We can't hold them back. They'll learn from their mistakes." he explains.
I smile at that and nod.
"I think you are easily the best dad ever." I sigh.
"You're a close second though." he smirks cockily.
I giggle and shake my head.
"Not really." I murmur.
"Hey, you're a good dad." Vic says sternly and I nod but hardly believe it.
We soon arrive in front of a house. It's smaller than ours but then again we have to occupy four children and five adults.
Vic and I get out of the car and walk up the front door of the house. Vic rings the doorbell and a young boy answers although he looks a little older than junior. What's noticeable though is the strong stench of weed. I notice his eyes are also bloodshot.
"Who are you?" the kid asks a little bitterly.
Suddenly Junior appears at his side.
"Oh that's my dad and uncle. Guess I have to go." Junior says quickly. "I'll see you at school dude."
"See you later man." the kid says before Junior pushes past us and the door closes.
Vic looks to me confused and I feel a little sick. Did he just refer to me as his uncle?
Vic takes my hand again and we go back to the car where Junior has already seated himself in the back seat.
Vic and I get back into the car and we both look back to Junior.
"Is there a reason why you just told them that your dad is your uncle." Vic asks a little annoyed.
Junior looks immediately guilty.
