Final Chapter: Is this my new journey?

Carnal's POV

I had awoke and noticed that I was laying on my bed in the team home. My head was sore and I felt wobbly as I moved to a sitting position.

"I wouldn't push it Carnal. Not after what happened." I heard Riga's familiar voice from the doorway. "Achelo was a great team leader. I am quite glad to of known him." Riga said and from what I could tell these were meant to be comforting words.

I cringed as I remembered what happened to Achelo. Tears flowed through my eyes as I felt the sadness flow through me.

Riga then sat next to me and pulled me into a sort of hug. He may be a gengar but Riga is also a very close friend.

I just felt more and more of my emotion bubble up. The sadness of losing someone so close to me was just causing more pain and the longer I had a focus on seeing it again and again, the further I had been getting from his words.

Riga smiled as he noticed that I wasnt crying now. "Cmon, Xcava made some food." Riga told me and I nodded.

We both walked into the eating area. Xcava had been setting the table. "Ah I see you are finally awake Carnal." Xcava said with a smile and he also decided to hug me.

The hug lasted a little while and then we sat to eat. The food was just some sort of meat and rice but it still looked nice. "Thank you for this meal." I told Xcava and he grinned.

"It is the least I can do for friends." Xcava stated with a wide smile.

We began to eat and while the dish was good I did think it was a bit on the dry side and I think that Riga was thinking the same.

I had eventually finished my meal and then went over to the photoframes. "I never really got an answer from him about these people in the photos. I still wonder whom they are." I sighed.

Riga and Xcava walked over. "Hmm well maybe they were close to Achelo?" Riga asked.

I thought about that but then shook my head. "If they were than they wouldnt of abandoned adventuring." I stated. "Anyway what is the next step from here?" I asked Riga and Xcava.

Riga didnt seem to have and answer while Xcava did. "I was thinking of... well going back to doing archeology. I was thinking that if I do that then I may discover more of these hidden things." Xcava said but then looked down. "I just didnt wanna upset you two by telling you this."

I walked over and so did Riga and then we both hugged Xcava. "Dont worry Xcava, we understand what you wanna do and we will always see you as a team member." I said and then Xcava began to cry a little.

"Thank you." Xcava said sweetly. This moment lasted a while longer then after pulling away from the hug we had made a vow.

"So we vow that on this day each year we will come here to this place and remember all that happened." I said and both Xcava and Riga agreed.

Xcava soon after had left on his journey of discovering secrets of the past.

It was just Riga and I. "So then what do you plan to do Carnal?" Riga asked me curiously.

I didnt have an answer really but I knew of something I should do. "Maybe I should join a guild?" I asked Riga and he grinned.

"You would fit in perfectly at a guild, it is a good goal but the closest one is quite far away." Riga told me and I smiled.

"That makes this adventure all the more better than. Who knows I may just discover more answers about all my questions." I said with a grin.

Riga seemed quite happy as well. "Hmm well I wish you well on that Carnal, I shall be staying here in the village. I don't really think they can handle issues that well so I feel as though I will stay here and be its protector." Riga told me and I smiled.

"Good idea and besides you will have Zax by your side as well. He seems like he will be capable." I told Riga and then he nodded.

"Carnal, before you go I just wanted to give you a gift." Riga said and then pulled something out of his satchel.

The stone looked pretty as did the smaller one. "This is lucarionite and a key stone. With this you can mega evolve." Riga explained and I gladly accepted the gift.

I had collected some supplies from the kitchen, placed them into my satchel and then with one final goodbye to Achelo and the team base, yes I know Achelo wasnt there but I could feel his presence watch over me, I left on my journey to join a guild.

"This may just be my biggest goal... just maybe." I said with a determined look. I knew I was going to join a guild and it was going to be quite the adventure.

Though the ending is a little on the slow side, I hope you still enjoy it and also hope you stay tuned for updates to my other stories.

This one was quite a ride for writing, it was one story that I had so much difficulty keeping up with.
