“Yes I knew it... Hayden’s secretly crushing on me” He said smiling at me. I started to laugh at him.
“Oh damn now you found out my secret” I said smiling at him. He shook his head with a smile on his face. He knew Jake would be my perfect prom date.
“Ok Jake who would be your perfect prom date?” Scott asked.
“Urm... I don’t know... I don’t really have one” he said, hearing that comment made my heart slightly squeeze. I mean I don’t expect him to say it would be me as he doesn’t fell anything for me but there was a small part of my mind that told me there was something there. I ignored the comment though, no doubt it’ll be wrong it usually is when Jake’s around, and listened to Scott saying that me and Jessica Alba would be his perfect date to prom which made me roll my eyes at him. When I was in my last lesson, which was Maths with Jake, he gave us the letters for prom. It was £20 to go as the money went towards the meal that we had there and the photographer. The event was taking place in the sport’s hall on Saturday the 30th of June.
When I got home that night I sat in my room for a while and thought about prom. What would it be like? Would it be fun to go? Is it worth going just to be with Jake, Scott, Becki and Jason? I finally made my mind up that night that I would go, even if I didn’t have a date. That night my mum signed the letter and gave me the money for prom.
At the moment it was Friday break and I was with Becki in the library as we were bringing our books back that we had borrowed a couple of weeks ago.
“So since you’re now going to prom do you want to go and look at dresses tonight?” Becki asked me.
“Ye why not... I’ll text Holly after and see if she wants to come with us” We handed our books in and made our way towards the Humanities block ready for Geography.
“HAYDEN” I turned around to see Jason running towards me. I hadn’t seen Jason around lately he’d not been himself for a couple of weeks and had been quite distance.
“Hey Jason... I need to go else I’ll be late for Geography”
“I know it will just be a minute” he said grabbing hold of my forearm and stopping me.
“I’ll meet you in Geography” I said to Becki whilst stopping in the middle of the now empty hallway.
“Ok” She said whilst turning around and walking towards Geography.
“What do you want Jason?”
“I just wanted to know if you’re going to prom with anyone” He said.
“No not really why?”
“Well I thought we could go together”
“Jason-”
“I don’t mean as in together together I meant as in friends”
“Ok then”
“What colour’s your dress then?”
“I don’t have one yet but I’ll text you when I do ok?”
“Alright see you at lunch” he said. I nodded and quickly turned around to run towards Geography.
“So you’re going to prom with Jason?” Becki asked me shocked whilst we walked into Jake’s room.
“Ye I mean at least I won’t be on my own seeing as your going with Simon” I said shrugging.
“Wait Jason’s taking you to prom” Jake said as he sat in front of me.
