Chapter 44

“Nope not yet” I said shaking my head.

“Hayden you have to come”

“Why?”

“Because it won’t be the same and when will you be able to go to prom again?”

“When I finish college here” He sighed and shook his head.

“How about when all the girls at prom fling their selves at me I will push them away and dance with you all night”

“You know that just makes me not want to go even more” I said smiling at him. He started laughing. If only he knew that if that deal was for real I would definitely agree.

“Fine then don’t come and miss out on all of the fun” He said shrugging and leaning back in his chair.

“Right because saying that’s going to stop you from asking me if I’m going to prom or not” I said looking at him.

After listening to Jake to try and persuade me to go to prom and me protesting Becki finally walked through the door.

“Hey what did Simon want?” I asked her as she sat to the desk at the side of me. Jake wheeled himself round on his teacher’s chair so then he could sit in front of my desk and join in.

“He wanted to know if I’ll go to prom with him” When she said this my mouth actually dropped to the floor. I must off been sat there for at least a minute or two before I felt a finger gently push my jaw up.

“Hayden close your mouth there might be flies around” I turned to look at Jake before gently hitting him in the arm. I turned to look back at Becki.

“Are you actually being serious? What did you say?” I asked eagerly.

“I said yes I mean who else would ask me?”

“Jamie if he was a student” Jake said. I have to say he took the words right out of my mouth. Becki turned to throw him a glare.

“Shut up Jake” she said before leaning over the desk and hitting him in the side of the head. He looked at both of us with a shocked expression.

“What is it... hit Jake day or something?” He asked.

“I wanna join in” Scott said from behind him and hit Jake round the back of the head.

“Thanks Scott” He said when Scott sat down opposite Becki.

“Where’s Jason?” Scott asked.

“He said he needed to go to the library for something” I said shrugging and took the piece of pizza off Scott as he had just bought me it from the canteen as I’d forgot to get some lunch this morning. “Thanks Scott I promise I’ll give you the money after” I said to him whilst taking a bite out of the pizza.

“Don’t worry about it it’s only pizza” He said.  I carried on eating the pizza. “So what were you guys talking about?” He asked.

“Becki’s been asked to prom by Simon and she said yes” Jake told him.

“Oooo bet you wish it was Jamie didn’t you” Becki looked at Scott when he said that and hit him over the head.

“Shut up... no I don’t” She said whilst slowly looking down at her lap.

“Ok then who would be you perfect prom date?” Scott asked her whilst crossing his arms over his chest and leaning back in his chair.

“I don’t know” she shrugged.

“Hayden who would be yours?”

“Urm... Paul Walker definitely” I said smiling at him. “And you to Scott”
