As a little girl

I've been told to be good,

To obey every "do this" and "do that"

An android with no opinion nor voice.

This android received flattering.

Flattering were her motivation, her batteries.

But nothing last forever.

As everything vanishes with time,

so fade does the flattering.

But the little girl remained and an android.

"Fake it until you make it"

She had faked being good.

Faked being an android thus she became one.

The one who'd spewed flattering now sewed her vocal cords,

The one who'd draws butterflies now sprouts poison,

The one who'd triggered happiness now produces emptiness,

Because emptiness is all this android is.

Empty as she is, she rusted.

This android has become exhausted,

Her batteries are dying.

Rusted, she was no longer beautiful.

Exhausted, she was no longer perfect.

Dying, she became a monster.

Her beauty fades with her strength.

The flatterer, her owner, looks at her with cold eyes.

The owner who values flashing lights more than the little dim light.

Odium, the owner tries to polish the android,

With each flashing lights she polish and polished.

She polished so much that the android remained rusted.

Too much "act more like a girl"

Too much "don't speak unless you're spoken to"

Too much "lose weight and you'll be more likable"

Too much "you don't even look human anymore"

Too much light that she forgot;

She forgets that this empty android is her daughter,

That this android wants the warmth of a mother's hug,

Wants to be happy rather than fear the flashing lights in her mother's eyes.

And she chooses to ignore that no matter how empty this android is,

Her daughter had shed tears being a good girl.
