Carnal's POV

We had awaited the chimera's arrival as we stood outside the gate of the village. We could hear it roaring more and more.

It felt worrying that it was so enduring that it survived the temple falling on it. It was scary that we were going to face something so powerful.

We were adventurers however and that means we dont fall victim to this fear, Achelo has taught me that and so we shall use that and hopefully come out on top.

Riga looked the most worried out of us all but I couldnt tell why. "I havent mega evolved since when I first became a gengar, it didnt end with me getting better." Riga stated to us but Achelo gave him a hope filled look.

"Dont worry Riga, this time will be different as for now however we need to focus on defending the village." Achelo gave a winning look.

I knew from how Achelo was, that we were gonna be able to do this.

The chimera had gotten close now and all I can say is that it had a very terrifying appearance.

It didnt speak but rather just exuded a lust for violence. The chimera glared at each of us with its violent eyes.

"Okay everyone I think it is time to fight this thing." Achelo said and well the chimera had already begun to attack.

It didnt aim at us however but shot some sort of multicoloured energy beam at the town which had started a dangerous fire.

Achelo had charged at the chimera for what it just did but he seemingly got kicked away without much effort.

Xcava and Riga then tried to launch a pinser attack on the chimera but it exuded and energy and by using that it flung them backwards.

Xcava luckily landed on his feet and we now had the chimera surrounded due to our current placements but we still had a very limited chance of winning.

The chimera had a rather vicious look showing on its face but even so we still held our determination. "We can bring this thing down!" Achelo cawed and we nodded.

The chimera swung its massive claws at me and even though I managed to avoid being struck I didnt manage to avoid the sheer force of the strike.

I got sent backward and wound up hitting a tree. "That was painful but I will still get up. This fight must be completed." I stated.

Achelo had then used aerial ace and while it did strike the chimera it didnt manage to damage it.

Riga used a shadow ball and all that did was barely faze the chimera.

The chimera let out a hideously violent roar. This roar had caused a shockwave that sent Riga and Achelo flying.

Riga landed pretty well but did seem a bit more exhausted and Achelo was looking very tired.

Xcava then used a dragon pulse and while it did make contact with the chimera it didnt seem to faze it that much.

"No matter how much we pummel it with our attacks it just takes them over and over." Xcava growled in annoyance.

The chimera looked at Xcava then jumped at him. It struck down with massive force, Xcava let out a growl sound as he attmepted to push the powerful foe off him.

I used an aura sphere but all that caused was the chimera now running towards me.

I hadnt a clue what to do because I knew that if I manage to strike it I still wont do much of anything to this creature. It was just so powerful that I could not comprehend a winning scenario.

The chimera looked like it was charging some sort of beam attack up but before it could launch it at me, Riga struck it with shadow ball but this time it managed to hurt the chimera slightly.

The chimera had stopped and although the wound was small it still had a visible weak spot now. The chimera roared in frustration but then did something surprising.

It managed to heal the wound but the small dent from it was still visible. "You have got to be kidding me!" Riga yelled in anger.

The chimera did give a very harsh look at Riga. "Riga look out!" I yelled and luckily I did since the chimera was about to strike Riga.

Riga did manage to avoid the strike but he was more tired now. "This is not going well." Xcava stated as he managed to get back up after what happened before.

The chimera had refocused on me again and I guess it must assume I am the group leader. The chimera charged at me and was going at such a speed that avoiding it was impossible.

I felt the fear of death, I felt like I will no longer gain answers for my questions. I was so very afraid.

The chimera was about to strike but something fell from the sky and forced it away. "Carnal! Don't freeze up... a true adventurer wont give in so... dont let those thoughts of doubt lead to forgetting that." I opened my eyes and saw Achelo had managed to block the chimera but he was severly hurt.

I was in shock. "A-achelo..." I could only say his name but Achelo gave me a wink. "I only knew you a short time Carnal *cough* but you were the hope I needed... I got to adventure again because you fell into my life. Carnal thank you and be the adventurer you are meant to be." Achelo said and then fell onto the ground.

Achelo's blood had splattered across the ground but all I felt was shock. I felt shocked that my mentor... my friend, had died in front of me, he died protecting me.

The chimera had growled in anger and also tried to heal but whatever Achelo did seemed to of made that impossible.

I had felt some sort of energy gather around me and before I knew of what was happening or could question the occurrence, I had begun to glow and somehow get taller.

"Carnal... evolved." Xcava said in a stunned tone. Riga looked just as shocked.

The chimera seemed to look very angry but after what it had just done. I was not going to let it get this win. I charged up an aura sphere and ran at the chimera.

I was resolute in this action and I made the strike and in doing so the chimera made a sound akin to a pained squeal. It was quite hurt indeed.

I took a step or two backward after doing that. My strength felt lower than usual but I did just evolve into a lucario so I suppose that would happen.

I had passed out due to fatique so mine and Achelo's hope stood on Riga and Xcava now.

Riga's POV

I knew my strength was low but I was not about to give in, especially after the sacrifice Achelo had made, so I pulled out my key stone then tapped it against my gengarite.

Energy flowed all around my body and then my body changed. Some would see me and think I look even more creepy now but I couldnt worry about appearance now.

The chimera was still screeching and reeling from Carnal's aura sphere. I charged up the strongest shadow ball I could and with that I struck the chimera.

It began to faulter immensely now and I was still ready to do more if need be but what was left of this battle was suspended due to the entry of a vaporeon. This vaporeon walked to the chimera and before I could tell her to not get closer she had used some sort of attack on it that managed to make it implode.

"This creature wished to sacrifice its pain and agony for a better life. I allowed it that." The vaporeon said in a rather ominous sounding tone.

"Who are you!" I yelled at her and she just gave me a look. "The embodiment of the aspect of death known as sacrifice. My common name is Tiberon." Tiberon told me and then placed something next to Carnal before she walked off.

"Make sure that he discovers his purpose. Carnal doesnt know of his aspect but that shall be his path to find." Tiberon mumbled and then walked off completely out of earshot.

I was stunned by this but relieved that the threat of the chimera was neutralized.
