I smiled, taking another big scoop into my mouth, "So? I like it. If it's not broken, don't fix it." I shrugged, and continued eating.
My mom also shrugged and turned on the radio, before eating her own ice cream.
"Mom we're going to get in an accident." I laughed, as she struggled to eat and control the car at the same time.
My mom laughed, then she imitated a deep voice, like a cop, "Ma'am, why'd you get in an accident?" She questioned, then returned to her voice, "I was eating ice cream."
We both laughed, then I did the same, imitating a curios police man, "What flavor?"
My mom and me both started laughing so hard. Luckily we got home without crashing and I went inside, got in my room and reluctantly threw my book-bag somewhere. I checked my phone. Nothing new. I shrugged again, and returned eating. I plopped down on my bed, and flipped on the tv, not really paying attention to it.
I was searching through channels, when my phone went off. I raised a suspicious eyebrow and checked it. Jonah finally texted me to come over. I sighed, I wanted to get up, but I felt lazy. So I texted him hang on.
I lousily got up and went over to my closet. I threw on some knee-high socks and slipped on my Converse. I tied them up, while trying to eat my ice cream. I grabbed my earphones and plugged them in.
"Mom, I'm going to Jonah's. Be home before dark." I shouted.
She yelled back, "Okay, call me if you need anything."
"Love you!" I called.
"Love you too!"
I stepped outside and someone grabbed me, I screamed, but somehow managed to keep a grip on my ice cream.
"Oh my god, that was hysterical!" He shouted, dropping his grip on me. My jaw fell open.
"That was horrible, you scared me to death." I stated. I angrily pushed my spoon in my mouth and started walking.
"Ice cream? And you're not going to give me some?" he asked, catching up to me.
"I would have, but you scared me. So no." I snarled towards him.
"Okay, I'm sorry." He apologized, giving me puppy-eyes. I couldn't resist.
"Fine, I forgive you. But I'm keeping my ice cream." I laughed.
"Fair enough." He sighed.
I smiled and finished spooning the lasts of my ice cream from my cup. I finally finished it, and threw it away in a near-by garbage.
Jonah nudged me, "Can I give you a piggy-back?" He asked.
I grinned, "Okay." He turned around and I hopped on his back, wrapping my arms around his neck.
"Holy crap, you're light." He chuckled, as he started walking towards his house.
"I'm like eighty pounds." I remarked.
"Then I must be pretty strong, right?" He asked. I laughed and smacked his arm.
"I guess." I smiled. "Go faster!"
"I'm trying." He chuckled back.
He stopped, and hoisted me up farther, then started jogging, trying to keep my hold as we both laughed. Finally his arms gave out and we both started laughing. We both ended up falling on the sidewalk and laughing.
"We should probably get to my house, Allen's gonna worry." He said between laughter.
I nodded, and got up. He came up after me and we walked on the sidewalk. We were talking when I noticed his hand was dangerously close to mine. I instantly pulled mine into my pocket, and his face lowered, disappointed. I kind of side smiled and wrapped my hand around his waist, after pulling it out of my pocket. Jonah smiled and wrapped his arms around me.
"Jonah?" I asked, quietly.
"Yeah? Are you okay?" He asked, brushing a stubborn lock from my face and tucking behind ear.
"Oh, never mind." I sighed. He stopped and let go of me, grabbing my hand.
"Are you okay?" He asked, searching my face with his eyes.
"I don't know." I sighed again.
"What's up? Can you tell me?" He asked, pulling me close to him.
"I just, it's so many things." I cried, tears forming in my eyes.
He wiped one away as it started to roll down my cheek, then grabbed my hand again.
"Let's go home, you can talk to me then, okay?" He asked, I nodded.
