All anyone could talk about for the first week after my fight with Richard was my use of three different elements. Then again, I don’t think there was anyone who was able to use more than two before except for that guy who saved the world.

Although it was satisfying to know that I am able to go above the norm, it was also a bit nerve wracking. The reason of course is because people are expecting me to do better than everyone else.

In addition, people have been wondering about the validity of the tale about me living by myself after my parents died. If people ask too many questions, than I fear that they will discover the truth of my situation.

It took me awhile, but I found out that not only am I able to use wind, fire and earth but also water and lightning. Of course, I am the only one that knows of this. During the time in which everyone has their elemental classes, I have been going to the beach and practicing my control over all five elements.

I have also found out that it is as easy to use magic with my mind if not easier than using words to direct my magic. As such I have been directing magic with my mind whenever there is no one around. To further improve both my control and power, I have been using all five elements at the same time and repeatedly changing their shapes.

Then there is the matter of me using Ki. So far the only relationship I can see between the two is that they use the same type of energy, they differ in that magic is the manipulation of matter while Ki is the manipulation of the body itself.

Over the course of the past few weeks, I seem to have exploded in terms of both strength and power. What would have knocked me out in the past has become almost easy to do. I have learned that what I had read a long time ago to be true. Magic that is done through the mind alone is limited by the person’s creativity.

Then there is the weather.

Just yesterday, a gigantic snowstorm occurred and caused at least three feet of snow to fall. It seems that it was supposed to snow around the time I fought Richard however it was late this year.

So of course, nature has to dump it all in one go. It seemed to put everyone in a good mood however as nearly all of the students had a large snowball fight during the night. Magic was involved of course, which meant that some of the snowballs were a few meters in diameter.

As much fun as it would have been to participate, I forced myself not to so as to surprise the ones I will have to fight in the Winter Tournament. If I participated, the chances that I would reveal the totality of my power were extremely high. Way too high for my liking.

Which reminds me, today is the first day of the tournament. Due to the sheer size of this tournament, we have two weeks of doing nothing but fighting each other or watching other people fight.

Nervous about what may actually happen, I quickly fling off the covers of my bed.

I regret doing so almost immediately due to the freezing cold air that must have snuck in throughout the building while I was under the haven of my covers.

Knowing that the floor is probably really cold, I decide to nut up and shut up before going over to the bathroom. Once done with my activities, I head back to my room and change clothes.

After playing around with my vambraces for awhile, I head over to the dining hall.

I am a bit surprised to see that the hall is almost full but it makes sense considering that the tournament is a fairly large event for everyone, as the tournament is not only capable of making someone jump up in ranks by a large amount, but it is also a way for everyone to test how far they have come in the past term.
